Advantages: A great all round cruiser Disadvantages: The worst saddle ever built
...Originally an owner of a HondaShadow 600, we moved to the new 700 Deauville. The ride deisgn of this bike is not suited to my height ..5ft 8 and 30 inch inside leg. We decided to go back to cruisers and bought a 2007 750 C2 Shadow Spirit.
My wife and I love the looks, the driver ride comfort, the economy and everything else about the bike......BUT....that gunfighter saddle..an absolute dissaster.................. After only 10 miles my wife is moving around trying to get comfortable. As she is only 4ft 10 and weighs just 45 kilos, she is hardly overweight.
We have had to purchase a Dual Tour saddle from the States as nothing else is available here in the UK.
Honda....it may look sexy but there the resemblence ends..that saddle is an ergonomic dissater...It ruins one of you best bikes ever.

Advantages: Excellent to ride, easy to clean Disadvantages: Not fast enough for some people

The Shadow is a V-twin custom style motorcycle. With its 45-degree liquid-cooled four-valve V-twin shaft driven engine and its electric start you are promised a smooth and comfortable performance and ride at any speed.
A winner with her looks she receives admiring glances wherever we go. Her highly polished dark blue metallic paint and chrome catch the sun, which makes her stand out from the crowd. Sleek and perfectly formed she is a desirable object. With her low style she is easy to get onto even if you are of short height like myself, and you feel secure...

...Marauder or the Honda VT 125C Shadow.
I have always had a soft spot for Hondas due to my dad having them and the name has a certain reliability associated with it. I also spoke to a friend of mine who started on a Shadow before passing her test about a year ago and upgrading to a bigger bike. She said the Shadow had a lot going for it as a starter bike. I must admit my mind was pretty much made up by this point.
I started out looking down the usual avenues to find out how much a second hand bike was going to cost me but, since I was going to have to take a five year loan out to pay it off I abandoned that plan in favour of a new bike figuring I could take the restricted access test and putter around on my 125 for a few years before upgrading.
Popping down to my local dealership I was delighted to find they had a Shadow in stock. I...
