I found and bought a Honda Silverwing on the internet. For many years this bike has held a particular interest for me, and I don't know why. What I can say is that it is the best bike I have had in 22 years of biking. Un like it's big brother the Goldwing it does not give the impression of being a two wheeled car (no offence intended to any Goldwing owners). Possibly it's because I have an unusual model with a 650cc engine rather than the usual 500cc model. The response is fast and the bike itself is comfortable for long distances. But it is also large enough that most car drivers can see you, a major plus when it comes to safety. The milage rate is good and the controls are of the usual high standard for honda.
Advantages: More style, power and top speed combined with superb braking :) Disadvantages: It's so new the importers aren't sure of how to solve any problems. The luggage capacity has been reduced :(
...The 150cc Elystar is a modern and very stylish 2 seater scooter with an efficient fuel injected 4 stroke engine.
It looks very much like the new HondaSilverwing.
It is a superbly practical commuter bike with good weather protection, great in built security devices and luggage carrying capacity.
Unfortunately it gave me a lot of problems from new and went back to the dealer more times than it was been driven in the first few weeks.
The problems seem sorted now, I believe, and the scooter is now going as well as the ads. promised.
The problem was wiring/electronics - there are a lot of electronics on board now and if anything does wrong it's difficult to pin point the cause.
The scooter will get to 75 mph with ease and is doing 77 mpg. It is more stylish than the similar Elyseo ( no special brakes or fuel injection) but has...
