1996 VFR 750 bought second hand a year back. Since then I've done just under 10,000 miles (now 30k on the speedo) which have included regular commuting, touring France, track day at Cadwell Park, advanced training around Wales (two up in the rain) and it has been great on every occassion.
Being 166cm (5'5" I think) I find it just a little heavy especially with the top box packed. But generally no problems. I have dropped it 3 times all at stationary when I have not got a good footing. However since then I have learnt to get on the bike, slide my right leg right over to the ground and then bring the bike up to vertical - easy when you realize!
Extras: Givi top box - ace, Loobman - not bad, GPS mounted to top yoke -ace, carbon can - generally ruins the bottom end so ditch it.
Tyres: Bridgestones, Dunlops and Pierrels have all been fine. (Got a puncture in the rear Dunlop - so don't worry it is not that bad on tyres!)
Reliability: no issues although did replace fork seals and clutch recently (approx 25000)
Final advice: The guy I bought it from got a 800 and prefers my 750 :-)
