Yes, I know girls on biggish bikes are fairly rare but I bought a VFR 3 years ago and it's one of the best buys I've ever made.
I'm quite tall for a girl (5'10") so I don't find the height a problem. I mainly use it for commuting to work (30 mile round trip) and it's never let me down. I haven't done huge amounts of touring, just the odd day, but it's just so great to ride.
It's a 1997 model, incidentally, the last year before they made the 800. I use Metzeler tyres and I have to say that it is not hard on tyres at all.
I know there are faster bikes but the top speed is 150, fast enough for me! It is also a lot more comfortable to ride than some of the race recplica types.
