Now, haven't you heard about LUSH? I don't believe you! But if you still claim so, I'll give you just a short description of the company and their shops.

Lush are very strict about it. They also believe in minimum packaging policy, so if you buy some of their soaps or massage bars, they would be only wrapped in a grease-proof paper. I am a lip balm junkie - a fact known to all my friends and family. Well, what can I do, whenever I see a lip balm that interests me, I just can't pass by it without buying! After all, I justify myself, I DO use balms all year long (not only when Autumn and Winter come and attack my lips with wind, cold and rain) so I know I am going to be using it. And unless a new purchase is a complete disaster (which, fortunatelly, rarely happens) it won't be just sitting on my cosmetic shelf. It will reside in one of my pockets, bags, coats, on a nightstand and wherever I might find it useful.
So no wonder on one of my trips to Lush I had to finally break and buy one of their wonderful lip balms. Now, haven't you heard about LUSH? I don't believe you! But if you still claim so, I'll give you just a short description of the company and their shops.
Lush are a fresh handmade cosmetics company, founded in 1994, selling products such as batth bombs, bath melts, shower gels (and jellies!), shampoos, both liquid and solid, conditioners, massage bars and a whole range of skincare: moisturisers, cleansers, face masks, hand creams and so on. Thousands, thousands of wonderful products! What is more, none of the products themselves or the ingredients it was made of has been tested on animals. Lush are very strict about it. They also believe in minimum packaging policy, so if you buy some of their soaps or massage bars, they would be only wrapped in a grease-proof paper. Now this is something for all of you, ecology lovers!
I have tried a lot of Lush cosmetics and am a confessed Lushie ;). Sometimes I just go to my favourite store (Covent Garden, London - absolutely fabulous) without an intention to buy anything. I like wandering there, looking at all these little gems, talking to the staff and trying everything! But then... how can I resist buying at least one little thing, to treat myself?!
On one of those occassions I purchased Honey Trap. Now as Lush website states, it "is a gorgeously tasty, white chocolate balm, sent to tease your lips into a soft, sensual state, capable of seducing anyone they touch." I have to agree with every single word of this brief description!
The balm comes in a cute little tin, containing 10 grams of a beige, quite hard balm that you put on your lips using your finger. On opening the tin, you'll be greeted by a wonderful, multilayered scent. I don't really think I am able to describe it - it's so unique! I can definitely sniff honey (well, that's kind of a given), sometimes peanuts and peppermint, a sweet, seductive aroma of vanilla... Mmmmm, doesn't it sound exactly like something you would like to put on your lips? Moreover, the taste is great too; not too strong, just a faint sweeteness of honey and white chocolate, contrasted with cooling effect that peppermint oil gives you. Not much of a tingling, don't you worry, just fresh, nice sensation.
But it's not only the smell and the taste that makes this balm so outstanding. It's also an absolute moisturising heaven, leaving your lips supple and supersoft, gorgeously scented and kissable. As for the "kissable"... hm, at least my boyfriend loves it when I use Honey Trap ;).
Now about the feeling on the lips... Honey Trap does not contain any artificial oils, only pure natural ones, such as almond, olive or wheatgerm oil plus beeswax and honey (which is a known remedy for chapped, dry lips). Therefore, although it might seem a bit greasy when you rub your finger on it, it feels very natural and light on the lips. It leaves a thin film (probably beeswax) for protection - so it's not like it sinks in your skin completely, which I think is good - but doesn't feel as if it was sitting on the surface. Oh no! You can instantly feel all the soothing, moisturising goodness of it going deep into your skin.
As I said, I use chapsticks and balms all the time, so my lips are in excellent condition. I cannot say then if Honey Trap is a magical remedy for really damaged lips. However, I've got a feeling it might improve the state of your skin in a long term; the moisturising effect lasts for ages and even the next day I can feel the difference if I used this instead of other balm. Thus it should be suitable even for more neglected lips!
I think it will last for a long, long time - even if you use it often like me! I've had mine for about two months now and have only used half of the tin! But, mind you, I have loads of other balms, so this is not the only one I am currently using :).
For a tin of this gorgeousness you'll pay 3,95 pounds which in my opinion is quite a bargain for something that pleasant! Oh, what do you have to lose? At least try and smell it in the shop and I'm almost sure you will love it too...
I'm a lush addict - the store in Nottingham can be smelt streets away, and on the odd occasion when I have a bit of spare cash with which to treat myself, its one of the shops I often visit.
With winter drawing in, my lips have started to dry out and crack, so a couple of weeks ago, I went in with one aim in mind - Lip Balm!
I'm sure you've heard of lush - a company founded in 1994 selling handmade cosmetics made from all natural ingredients with ... ...- shampoo, hair dye, shower gel, bu8bble bars and more, but essentially all you need to know is that the products are not tested on animals are natural, and they use minimum packaging. Three cheers for green cosmetics!
So, Honey Trap Lip Balm - described by the makers themselves as
'A gorgeously tasty, white chocolate balm, sent to tease your lips into a soft, sensual state, capable of seducing anyone they touch."
Nice claims, but how does it ...

...was this, Honey Trap.
Lush are a company that make gorgeous handmade cosmetics using natural ingredients which are not tested on animals. They recycle absolutely everything and do their best to lower their wastage and generally help the environment. They also try to make as many of their products as possible suitable for vegan (or at least vegetarian).

Honey Trap comes in a small silver tin. The tin contains 10g of the balm, which doesn't sound like much but i've been using mine for 6 months and there is still over half left. This means the £4.95 is very good value. The tin can get squashed a bit but it is generally easy to get into. The only ...

My lips tend to get really chapped and dry during the winter and I've tried numerous lip balms to try and avoid this. Most of these tend to moisturise for a short while, then make them drier than before and you have to apply it again and again. But this was completely different.
I bought this after reading raving reviews on the wonderful Ciao! website.
As soon as I put it on, my lips felt instantly more moisurised. They looked a lot better too. ... ...they stay moisturised - even through winter! They look and feel soft, it's wonderful.
It smells good as well, although my boyfriend thinks it smells of playdough.
All the ingredients are natural as well, so you know that you're not putting anything that shouldn't be there on your lips.
I would like this product even more if it came in a lipstick style thing. I think it would be more hygienic than sticking your finger in the pot then on your lips. ...

Advantages: gorgeous smell and taste, leaves lips soft and tasty! Disadvantages: costs more than most other lip balms
This is one of the best lip balms that I have ever encountered, which I think is mostly down to the waxy rather than greasy texture of it. It leaves my lips feeling soft and somehow fuller, and utterly kissable - plus it smells divine!! Honey and white chocolate is one of the best scent and taste combinations, and this balm smell and tastes totally yummy! I also like the fact that it comes in a pot rather than a stick (infinately preferable, in my ...

Advantages: Good idea on paper, nice applicator Disadvantages: Doesn't work, expensive, might be tested on animals
off dryness to reveal baby soft lips and to leave lips feeling conditioned and making them look plump long term. Now, I was left with lips that looked like all of these things, but they didn't feel like them. My lips felt dry and unnourished, I was very disappointed with the end result. Also, the melting sugar is meant to give you a 'glossy sugar coating', but I would not depend on this to give you gloss. Big disappointment.
This product was £10 from ASOS and delivery is between £3.95 and £5.95 so it's not cheap.
Overall, I would not recommend this product. There are a lot better balms out there that actually nourish your lips and leave them feeling soft and beautiful such as Lush's HoneyTrapLipBalm - which I love.
I do like the applicator though, it's easy to get the product all over your lips and would like it if more ...

** Back to the Balm**
I'd already tried on of Lush's other lipbalms, HoneyTrap - in fact, I'd been using it for the past three years ! It was about time I had a change, so instead of buying my usual, I had a look around at the various offerings, and selected 'Lip Service'
Well, it comes packaged in a little 10g tin, and upon opening it, the balm is a light white colour , and quite solid in the tin (especially on a cold day!). I just apply this with my finger - I scoop a little out of the tin on my finger, and gently rub it across my lips. Instantly it moisturised them and makes an instant difference to any dryness there, and leaves my lips feeling very soothed ...
Advantages: Ideal for dry hands that need a bit of looking after Disadvantages: None
