I recently bought a house and moved in without a single kitchen appliance (or any furniture for the rest of the house for that matter!!) so I had to do some serious appliance shopping pronto! My new kitchen isn't exactly huge so there was no way I could consider a full size dishwasher so I checked out the compact range. I particulalry wanted a silver one ('cos I'm that sort of gal) and the Hoover HDS556MS80 Slimline does look very slinky and stylish in silver. It slipped into the tiny space beautifully (it measures W45cm, H85cm, D58cm)and I was really excited about loading it up for the first time and seeing my dishes come out sparkling. Therefore imagine my surprise when I found my 27cm dinner plates wouldn't go in as they were too tall to stand up in the lower rack !!! There's just no way they can go in upright ! The best I could manage was to lie one plate down flat (and one only) on the top rack but that left hardly any room for anything else on the top rack. So I mainly eat off side plates and bowls now !! But besides that, it's a great little dishwasher, performs well, isn't overly noisy, looks good, shouldn't cost too much to run as it's energy rated B, and basically does the job. Well anything's better than washing up, isn't it ??!!
