Advantages: Light-weight, washable filters Disadvantages: Back-heavy/not very well balanced; tends to fall backwards without much effort, washing all relevant filters & parts a little time consuming, see-through dust chamber
...The Hoover Whirlwind W2700 is a very powerful vacuum cleaner, it has a 1400 watt engine and its suction power in my opinion is second to none.
The Hoover Whirlwind has washable filters and having been the owner of a vacuum cleaner which required the constant buying and changing of disposable filters this with was something of a bonus to me when I first purchased it.
However, there are 5 main parts to the Hoover Whirlwind which need to be washed to maintain its optimum suction power, these being a small half-moon shaped filter by the handle, a cone-shaped filter in the main body, the dust-bucket, the hepa-filter and the donut shaped foam filter within it.
One of the disadvantages with the washable filters is that they must be maintained regularly and process is a little time consuming both in the washing but ultimately the drying...

Advantages: Great Suction, Plenty of Gadgets Disadvantages: Bit on the heavy side
...than a Dyson), Motor Watts: 1600w (so its quite noisy)
COST: The Hoover 350 series 1600w can be bought from most electrical retailers for around £170 (another advantage over the Dyson, way cheaper) but be advised to shop on-line. I bought mine from BE.com and it cost £150 inc delivery.
CLEANING: I haven't tried to clean it yet (recommended once a month) but the instructions look really easy so I cant see it being a problem.
To give you an idea of how much it sucks up, we had a carpet fitted and for 3 months used the old vacuum. You'd think by that time all the carpet fluff would have been sucked up but no. The Hoover had to be emptied twice it sucked up that much.
In summary, the Hoover 350 Series is great value for money and is worth every penny. Would recommend it to anyone....

Negative points
---------------------
It seems badly designed on every feature.
1. The hose is not quite long enough to get to the top step, so the hoover falls over, or you do (on stairs, dangerous).
2. The tools fall out of the carrying holes in the back, meaning you never actaully have them when you need them, and have to walk around looking for where they fell out.
3. No bag means you have these plastic contains, which are quite easy to empty, but you do have to wash them to keep them clean enough so they work well. This means drying them out. A lot of effort and waste of time. Not impressed.
4. There are 2 filters which need to be cleaned as well as the plastic dust holder. So much effort for a lazy boy
5. The 1900W sounds like a lot, but somewhere it all falls down and it cuts out. already we have had one motor replaced (under...

One of the selling points of this freezer is that it is frost free, and this was a very desirable feature because the one we had previously, needed defrosting constantly, 2 or 3 times a year. Which takes a lot of effort and a long time. So it was a... more
"Frost Free?"
The freezer would fill up with so much ice that the fan at the back would chop into it making a very loud whirring noise, usually waking us up in the middle of the night.

Purchased this machine from Curry's on 12th April 2008. Found the machine quite noisy on the 1600 spin. The machine has a good load capacity, plenty of features and appeared good value for money. Unfortunately on 10th June 2008 the machine flooded our more
