Advantages: Quick wash programmes Disadvantages: Poor quality. Didn't even last a week !!
...I have had my HNL 642 for 4 days and it has started belching smoke from the drum ! My previous Hoover WM had broken down and after a battle with Dom & Gen for 3 weeks they decided to replace it with the HNL 642 under my washing machine repair plan. I had to wait for a week until the replacement was delivered from Wales to N Ireland. By now the washing is taking over my house and thats with taking some to family to wash. There are 6 of us so a washing machine is essential. Now I am without a washing machine again. Hoover and Domestic & General are useless. I have a complaint lodged with the Financial Ombudsman about the lack of speed in dealing with my case now I have another complaint !!! I wouldn't recommend Hoover washing machines or their customer service. It would be wiser to save for a new washing machine every year as put up...

...When my washing machine packed in i had to takea mad dash to the shops and found this hoover model!! Looked good, the features sounded good...£250 and i could take it away that day..Fantastic!! Has every program you could ever need, has a normal cycle, daily washes at 60 min, 45 min and 30 min cycles!! you can change the temperature, you can adjust the spin-speed between 800-1600rpm and its quiet!! Its a cold fill machine too so it wont run away with you bath water you just het up! Has a time display to let you know roughly how long your cycle has left and it has a time set option so you can program it to come on whenever you want it too..!!!!What more can you want....I does what it says on the label and at a reasonable price....

...Purchased this machine from Curry's on 12th April 2008. Found the machine quite noisy on the 1600 spin. The machine has a good load capacity, plenty of features and appeared good value for money. Unfortunately on 10th June 2008 the machine flooded our kitchen due to a crack in the drum. The engineer who called couldn't find the reason for the crack in the drum initially and ordered a replacement drum. On his second visit to fit the drum and without taking the machine apart (only the top) he apparently found 10p (which he couldn't produce when asked) and was therefore blaming user fault for the crack and outside warranty. Customer Service at Hoover is poor and we have since been sent a bill for repair which hasn't been carried out. Going on our experience, we would not recommend this machine nor manufacturer....

Bought to replace a very old and defunct machine, I paid £250 and it was the best money ever spent.
The machine is incredibly quiet, has a variable spin which can be changed midwash, handy for when you realise your cashmere sweater is in there! ... more
