Advantages: 5kg wash and dry
Disadvantages: keeps breaking down

...I brought this washer/dryer because it had a 5kg drum for washing and drying, I wish I hadn't! since I brought this 7 months ago I have had to call the engineer out 4 times, It now has a new motor, new fan and the pipe keeps blocking up with fluff. The engineer told me I will be calling him out every 4-6 months to clean the pipe as I use the dryer a lot?? there is only 2 people in my house so I don't class that I use this a lot. I'm so unhappy with is product that we have now asked Hoover if we can swap this model for a separate washer & dryer, we are waiting to hear from them. (The fluff getting trapped in the pipe is a common problem with this model)... Read review

...Yes, this will be a very expensive washing machine, because if you want to use the dryer on more than an occasional basis you will have a repairman out every six weeks. He will tell you the dryer is not suitable for regular use (Hoover don't tell you this before you buy it!), especially for people with pets, people with babies (lots of soft fluffy clothes) and the like. I brought this model in July 2004, thought it was brilliant, washed really well, then the cold weather came, so I used the dryer, and it broke down in October, Novermber and early January. Each time the engineer said I was using it too much (I was using it every 2-3 days, that to me isn't a lot) and pretty much said as he left, see you next month. The trouble is the fluff that usually is removed on a filter in a tumble dryer gets flushed out the back of the machine... Read review
