Hoover HSW150

Advantages: 1500 Spin Speed with extra rinse,excellent wash
Disadvantages: Tumble Dryer keeps breaking down

...a common fault amongst other Hoover Washer/Dryers. Plus another 10 call outs for the Washing Machine itself ( new water pump and a stretched fan belt, plus many other repairs ). I would certainly advise you to avoid this Hoover machine at all costs. We certainly wish we had bought a different make or model. There is however a bright side......Honestly ??? ...that was replaced with a Hoover HSW 130,which gave the same trouble as mentined above. Now we have this Hoover HSW 150,which as I have already stated is very unreliable. PS. As the Tumble Dryer has once again become blocked and another call out has occured. We have now bought a new seperate Proline Tumble Dryer as a back up. Update...22 Sept...2005.. Disadvantages: UNRELIABLE, ACCIDENT PRONE, VERY STUPID ELECTRICS

I owned this machine for 18 months and during that time had a repair man out no less than 40 YES THATS 40 times, the drum paddles came loose 6 times, the dryer timer was replaced three times, we had the motor replaced four times and we also had a new door, two new electric control boards, drum bearings replaced once, two new drive belts and a whole new drum, these are among some of the repairs we had done on it during our time of owning it. Advantages: Large load and uncluttered fascia
Disadvantages: Drying duration knob breaks easily when turned wrong way

The machine is 2 years old last christmas, yup domestic disaster during the festive season, deep joy! This machine has been given plenty of usage, I have a famiy with 5 children. At weekends both the dryer and washer functons gets used to ensure the school uniforms are cleaned and ready to go! The machine is fairly quiet considering that the max spin is 1500rpm, the route to this speed is quite clever as it builds up slowly thus reducing the strain on the motor, this spin leaves the clothes damp, not dripping, thus the drying time is greatly reduced. ...We bought this back in early December 2004 in order to give us a back up Tumble Dryer simply because of the major problems we are experiencing with a Hoover ( See Washer Dryer Blues ) HSW 150 Combi.. It was bought from Comet and turned up smack bang on time by them..we never seem to get any delivery problems from Comet. It's after they deliver things go wrong for us..but thats another story. So on to this Proline TDC 7A . Apparently,this is a brand new model and supersedes the TDC 6 A. Which I know nothing about. First thing I noticed was that it was lot heavier that our last Tumble Dryer and a little awkward to mavouvere around the kitchen,although it has wheels, but was eventually installed in the right place.
