Advantages: Very quiet, easy to carry, easy clean filter Disadvantages: Poor suction on carpet.
...We brought are HOOVERTS2000 from Curry's 6 months ago. We were attracted by the price £69.99 and the manufacturer.
The hoover is small and compact and we were really impressed by how quiet it was (quiet enough to be able to hear the TV when vacuuming!).
HOWEVER, just one vacuum of our house (which is only a 2 bed terrace and has wood floors downstairs) and the suction power of the vacuum cleaner fades away. You would think that the dust collecting box was full - but that wasn't the case. In fact, it was only a third full.
So, I empty it and clean out the filter. Next time I use it, I have to do the same. EVERYTIME! - which is very annoying!!! Took it back and swapped it for another, thinking maybe it was a faulty unit. Same problem.

Advantages: Cleans carpets or hard floors Disadvantages: Very loud
...This is a very efficent hoover that i bought in the January sales 2 years ago for £120 which was half price at that time. This is a very powerful hoover with 1800 watts of power. It has edge to edge cleaning which is handy as it saves you having to get the pipe attachment out to hoover the edging of any floor. There is a large button on the front which you press to change from cleaning hard floors to carpets. This is good with lots of homes now having laminate floors & carpets in a home. The only downside is the noise, i've heard some noisy hoovers in my time but this one is the loudest!! This wouldn't put me off buying another one though. There is a large dust container on the front which with a twist removes fully for you to empty & also a couple of filters which are easily removed. The instruction manual recommends that you change...

Advantages: Good value for money. Fast spin. It DRIES! Disadvantages: It doesn't always spin. Drying can take AGES.
...My Hoover doesn't suck, because it's a washer dryer, not a vacuum cleaner! Now THAT'S cleared up, we can continue.

Next to the washing machine sits a tumble dryer - both are big enough to take at LEAST three days worth of laundry for a family of four.
What a shock it was for me when I came to live in the UK. I lived in a flat. There was just one dinky little washing machine in the kitchen under the counter (as another little aside, this is actually a better situation than many flat-dwellers have in the States...
