Hoover HZ12 Table Top Freezers

Advantages: frostfree is fab, internal wine rack, quality

...This is the best fridge freezer that I have ever owned. I brought it from the internet for about £370 pounds. It is very good value for money. The frost free feature of it is fantasic - I have had it for a year and have never have to even clean the freezer. The in built wine rack is a really good feature. I like having the frisge at the top as this is the part that I use most often. It was delivered and left in my hall but it was not too difficult with two of us to move it to the kitchen - it was surpisingly like. It has a very stylish, quality feel to it - it's not too platicky feeling. I have not had any problems with it.... Read review

...My freezer (just seven months old) went wrong 5 weeks ago. The red alarm light is permanently on and despite being called frost free it is frosting up. I don't trust the temperature levels in the first few days following the malfunction and won't risk eating the food that is still inside the unit. I contacted Hoover and they sent an engineer out, but he didn't have the right part, The reason why? Apparently this model is 'too new' so they haven't had many complaints since then. Since then I have had one letter from Hoover telling me they can't make a seven day repair deadline, and since then nothing. Tomorrow I am phoning Hoover because the 28 day deadline for service will be up and they have to give me a brand new appliance and not a repair. I am not impressed with Hoover's service, so if you are thinking of buying a Hoover... Read review

.... But it doesn't look good if the "Frost Free" claim is what the products fault was. Im not sure if it was a one off, if there is a batch of faulty products or the range is just generally unreliable, but it is only fair to presume it was a one off occurance. Once this problem was brought to the attention of Hoover, they were quick to replace our freezer with a new one, with no charge. The problem was reported and the new freezer delivered in 2 working days. The new one being installed and the old one being disposed of by hoover. This was a very good service from the company as there was no argument at all and things were dealt with quickly and efficiently. However, if it was a different problem, like the freezer wasn't keeping things cold, 2 working days would be a long time for a delivery, as most of the food would have been defrosted and ruined...
