Right, those members remembering Hoover Juniors, will know they are a bog standard little vaccuum, correct so far. What has changed is the design, gone is the functional practical austere look, this is the new Doctor Who of cleaners. This is the new improved "Hoover with attitude" It looks modern, stylish even, and I dare say designers have been briefed to give it a sort of "In your face image".

While I have absolutely nothing against the idea of a household appliance being trendy, or even cool, I just think that we should keep out feet on the ground. "It is only a vaccuum cleaner" nothing more, nothing less.

Weight is only 3.8 Kgs, very light for this type of appliance. Availability is good, you will find them everywhere. As for the price, do not pay more than £35, this seems an enormous amount of money to me, but that is what Hoover are charging, and they do that because we, the customers, are willing to pay it. Your best buy would appear to be online, just remember the cost of postage. Portability is good, it is easy to carry, light, and not too long or bulky.

This type of machine is good for cleaning carpets, upholstery and other surfaces, useful to have upstairs as a second cleaner. It does have a selection of tools, including the obligatory "crevice tool". The cleaner holds the old fashioned bag, which seems to work well. The mains lead seems long enough for most homes.

I still think of this item as coming off the set of a new Star Wars movie, does it really need to be that aerodynamic?

It does have to be said that it makes a noise, not a great deal decibel-wise, but the sound is not a pleasant onem perhaps it is time research was put into silent systems?

Final question, does it suck the muck? well actually, yes it does, and that really is the important question, nothing else matters more, no matter how cheap an item is, if it is rubbish then it is a bad buy.

I assume you do not want to hear about the history of the company, you all know it's reputation ny now.

The company has a website :- www.hoover.co.uk/

Thank you . . .
