Advantages: Lightweight, easy to use Disadvantages: short charge time
...I Purchased this hoover as I have trouble carrying my hoover up and down the stairs, I saw this and thought it would be ideal for that job, and also the little messes you get from time to time. A item for convenience more than anything.
It comes in Silver and is priced around £69 depending on the store you go to.
It runs on 12 Long Life Ni-Cadmium batteries and comes with a rechargeable unit which can be wall mounted if you like.
Once charged you get around 15 minutes charge time, to be exact by the manufacturer's instructions 14.4 minutes. It has a washable permanent filter, but if you do choose to replace this in the future it costs around £3.30 so not an expensive spare. It holds on-board a Crevice Tool, Supersoft Brush and a Dusting Brush. When in use it has the capacity to hold around 0.6 litres of dust...

Advantages: Powerful suction, cheap Disadvantages: As with all "bagless" handhelds bar Dyson, loses suction
...Whilst hand held vacuums are pretty unexciting, I felt compelled to write a review of this as I had so much trouble mysel in choosing one.
Basically, the Dyson DC16 is excellent and despite a short battery life, the best hand held one can buy. However, at £100 that put me off. Agood fridend has a £30 Black and Decker model. It's good, but clogs up easily and then doesn't suck properly. I ended up going for the HOOVER S96DS. Having tried a few models at Comet, this seemed very good. If you're spending £40 or over, then I do recommend going for the Dyson as it's so much better, but Comet do this Hoover model for £20 (normally £40) as it's an end of line. For £20 it is excellent and far more pwoerful than it's counterparts. It does clog, but then so do all bar the Dyson.
It's not excellent, but I would highly recommend it if you...

However, in this instance I do have a Hoover! A genuine one. A bright blue one!
So, how about a little about the company:
Hoover began in America, in Ohio. Eventually it established itself in the United Kingdom, and was a major player in the early and mid 1900's dominating the Vacuum cleaning industry. As I've already hinted at, the Hoover became synonymous for vacuum cleaners here in the UK.
Although the company is no longer the major seller of Vacuums in the country...

I like to be spoilt. Well, doesn't everyone? There are times when I just want to glide through life enjoying what I am doing and have other people deal with all the "chores" so I can concentrate on much more interesting and rewarding... more
