The box looked very professional and I really thought I had bought a great cleaner. The box was black and had a very classy looking picture of the '''Great"" vacuum I had just purchased. Along the side of the box was all of the Hoover?s features that I will explain later on.
Once home I was excited, I don't ... ...haha.
The hoover came in the box with the handle separate as always. You will need a star head screwdriver to put the handle on (If you do choose to buy this thing). I cannot even bring myself round to calling it a vacuum?. So I will call it a thing. All of the tools were installed and I was ready to get cleaning.
The first thing I noticed with this vacuum was the way it was standing up. Well it was leaning backwards. ... more
Hi everyone and welcome to this review.
I just want to warn you all about this absolutely useless piece of rubbish and hopefully save you money.
I wish I could give this vacuum 0 stars so much! But unfortunately I have to give it 1:(

Once home I was excited, I don't know why! But I always get excited when I buy a new product. Gosh! I am strange, I just love the whole new smell haha.
It was hanging backwards like a zombie, I thought I would ignore this and got ready for vacuuming. I pressed that little button to lower the handle and gosh it was hard! I had never experienced this with any other brand.
I turned on the cleaner and It started screaming... Honestly! Screaming, not a normal vacuum noise but it was a high pitched scream. Very loud but it seemed to be sucking. The suction the vacuum had was great! I couldn't fault that. It cleaned okay for 5 minutes and then the suction just vanished. I emptied it of the little fluff that was inside and it was sucking again, BUT! 5 minutes later.... No suction, useless piece of junk. My carpets were hardly at all dirty.
After a very hard cleaning session this machine was put I the cupboard, it was so hot that I thought it needed a rest, it smelled like melting plastic.
Two days later it was time to clean the lounge, plugged it in as normal and then the left wheel popped off! It had only been used on carpet, not hard floors just thick soft carpet. I could not believe it and rushed it back in the box to get a replacement? After all I was sure I had a faulty unit. I took it back and had a replacement on the two year guarantee that I took out thinking I had done something wrong. I got the new one home and set it all up as to the instruction manual. On it went and cleaned pretty well, a bit better than my previous but it still screamed and smelled like it was melting! Then 5 minutes into the cleaning.. Guess what! Yes off popped the right wheel! Not the left but the right this time, Great! I had void my store warranty from the first vacuum.
As i had void my two year replacement scheme I had to try and fix it myself, I could not be bothered with calling Hoover to fix it as the representative on the phone was anything but helpful! I told her of the problem and guess what she said, ""That happens all the time, try wood glue"", ridiculous! I was shocked and asked for someone to repair it, but apparently it was a consumable?. Since when has a wheel that is non-replaceable been a consumable?
I fixed the wheel myself with the wood glue recommended but then the left one popped off on the next cleaning! and then my repaired wheel, Great No wheels! I had lost all faith in the machine by now and well.. I did kick it more than 5 times, I admit that! But it totally deserved it:)
I continued cleaning my carpets with no wheels for about three days when the vacuum decided it no longer wanted to stand up on its own! The whole vacuum falling to the ground when not attended. This resulted in me having a rather bad bang on the head. Which really hurt! OwwwwwL I rang Hoover straightaway but they wanted me to send the whole vacuum back to them for repair. I really did not want to pay the 20 pound delivery fee as I thought it would be repaired only to have it happen again. I had totally given up on this vacuum by then. I just wanted to see the back of it, and that was only a week of use.
I carried on vacuuming with this piece of plastic rubbish until it was a week old. I turned it on with a brand new bag in and BANG! Sparks came out and that was the end of it. Goodbye Hoover, I was so glad to see it blow, only a week old and I was sick of it! So much for Hoover... Used to make the best vacuums? Not any more! I found out that they have been taken over since and just check their other vacuum reviews! They are all terrible.
The cleaner never stayed upright when using the hose, it constantly smelled of hot plastic and it cut out all of the time even with a new bag in. My house is hardly dirty! My robot vacuum copes so this should have!
I am so annoyed with this cleaner, I think I would have been better off buying an unknown brand, Hoover has really gone downhill on their latest cleaners! I wish I had looked at the reviews on this site before buying.. But hey.. I only joined a week ago
Just read reviews from other people, there are definately quality problems with these vacuums and I will NEVER buy a hoover product again, unless they sort their problems out!
And I seriously recommend you don't either!
I have since bought a 20 pound upright from Argos and WOW so much better.
Advantages: Cheap, efficient and easy to operate Disadvantages: It has a bag that need emptied
...I finally decided on the Hoover U3525. It retailed around £100 but the reconditioned one I got for £35. I thought if I have to buy a new one every year then it would still be cheaper than buying a new dyson every 2 or 3 years. When it arrived I was apprehensive as I had never purchased anything this way before. It came by courier in a new box and when I opened it is was like it was brand new. I would new have know it was reconditioned. I couldnt ... ...you just need to wash it quickly by hand and leave it to dry throughly, it still picks up pet hairs and crumbs like the first day I got it. I certain wouldnt be going back to a dyson after this. It is Hoover all the way for me. ...
