Three days ago we bought the Hooverbagless upright cleanerV3111 1500 watt for £173 (It was on sale at Argos). So far it seems fab. It has stacks of features and sucks like nobodies business!!!! It comes with a one year labour and 5 year parts guarantee with an option to buy a 2nd years cover for £31.80 which you can pay by direct debit over four months. This seemed a little pricey as you can get five years parts and labour insurance from Argos for around fifty five pounds, so I called the insurance company and explained this and they reduced the cost to £42.30 (payable over ten months direct debit) for five years parts and labour.
The only assembly you need to do is fit the handle. This involves inserting two screw's, one to the front and one to the rear of the machine, and tightening. It has - Twin HEPA 'S' class filters which are said to retain 99.99% of dust particles, dustmites, bacteria and pollen. Which is great for people with allergies.
No bag or filters to change ever. The dust container has a capacity of 2 litres and although it dosent seem all that big when you compare it to its competitors, it is plenty big enough for us and a very hairy dog! And since you never need to buy bags it dosent really matter anyway. When it is full (there is a maximum mark) you just twist the latch ring, remove the container and empty it into the dustbin. Occasionally you also need to clean the screen and the filter. This is very easy to do. You simply remove the dust container, reach up into the body of the vacuum, rotate the screen and pull it down. You can also wash the filter in warm-water, dry it thoroughly and refit it.
A unique Hoover grooming agitator and precise carpet care control. These features care for your carpet. You can adjust the cleaning height for your carpet pile depth or floor covering.You simply place the cleaner in an upright position, slide the control on the front to the best position. You can choose from: short carpet, medium carpet, long carpet/hard floor, luxury-carpet. However, it does tell you in the booklet that you should avoid using the cleaner on carpet more than three centimetres deep.You also use this slider to select tool mode.
On board tools with a thirteen stair hose (four-metre). Four accessories are included with the vacuum. There is a: dusting brush, grooming nozzle, extension tube, and a crevice tool. These are easy to reach and each have their own location on board the vacuum with a little picture next to the hole so that you know what goes where. On the hose there is also a restrainer which you clip on to the bottom of the vacuum to stop the machine tipping over whilst using the tools.You can comfortably reach the top of the stairs with the flexible hose although for maximum reach you can use the extension tube and the crevice tool.
A thermal cut-out switch to prevent overheating. Apparently this can happen if it is used when the dust container is full or if there is a blockage or the filters need cleaning. If it does occur the machine takes thirty minutes for the cut-out to automatically reset . Everything on this vacuum is simple to use. The on button is very large and is in an easy to reach position.The handle is comfortable to hold and is easy to move to clean under low furniture. It is possible to lower the vacuum all-the-way down to the floor.
It is a little on the heavy side however especially when the brushes are in their lowest position.
The instruction manual is very basic. It contains only five pages of instructions including one page with a diagram of the vacuum and one page of telephone numbers in case of any problems.
