We have had this washer for 6 months now- long enough to get to know it and take its reliable results a bit for granted. We are very happy with it and I thought someone else could benefit by our experience so i will go through some details and reasons why

The machine
This is a relatively petite washer considering its capacity. It also has an extra wide (35 cm)door which opens to 180 degrees and is higher than on most washers making it really easy to get washing in and out, particularly large items such as duvets. The door hinge is on the left and when open the door is flat against the machine where they are out of the way.

It has a blue screen on the front right to keep a check on the programme selected, temperature etc and where it is in the cycle. it also informs you how much time to end of programme It has a large central knob to select the cycle and 7 small buttons around the screen. on the left is the powder dispenser which is nicely curved as is the door handle.

The interior of the drum has dome shaped bumps which keep the washing from clinging to the sides it also has curved paddles in the drum which assist in pushing the washing back towards the centre. these features mean the water flows better around the washing. There are also a lot of small holes so the water can be squeezed out easily during the spin.

It has a spin stabiliser so it won't bounce around when washing things like towels and it has overflow protection so there should never be any leaks or water damage.
The water supply is cold fill
It is fairly quiet with a noise level of 54 dB

Spinning
It has a spin speed of 1600 RPM which is pretty fast. The higher the spin speed the more water is squeezed out from the washing so the clothes aren't as wet once the cycle is over. This shortens the drying time on the line or in the tumble dryer. Its spin performance is A Rated - The efficiency of the spin cycle is graded A to G with A having the most water removal and G has the least. It also has a variable spin, even though the machine will select what is sees as the best speed for the programme chosen you are able to override it if you want to .

Washing
It has a vast wash load capacity holding up to 8 Kg which equates to around 32 cotton shirts!. The large drum also means the washing doesn't get as creased making it a bit easier to iron. Its wash performance is A rated . This rating identifies how clean the washing is when it comes out, this scale also runs from A-G . It also has what Hoover calls an Optima Wash System which apparently uses electronic controls to constantly monitor and adjust the wash process for the best possible performance. How ever this works it does what it is supposed to with the washing always being very clean It is also good for those with sensitive skin with a special programme featuring five rinse cycles. Its not lavish with the amount of water it uses generally as the standard 40.C cycle uses 60 litres of water. This cycle which is the one we most commonly use is also rated AA for efficiency.

It has a variable temperature so you are able to set a higher or lower temperature than the one normally used by the machine. This allows you to change it to suit the contents , to save on electricity or on time as you can choose a shorter cycle and make it hotter.

Programmes
Programmes seem pretty standard on decent washers these days and like the competitors. it has the usual prewash, white cotton, colours etc- in all it has 15.
Cycles worth mentioning:

• It has both a delicate and a silk wash and i have used both with excellent results. they are gentle enough to get clothes clean without damage. the silk setting also has a spin cycle that works only once at the end of the Programme which reduces creases
• It has a wool setting and when using this the rotation speed of the drum is reduced treating woolies gently . this prevents matting and stretching. There is also a hand wash setting which is safe to put most garments with a hand wash label in.
• The sensitive care setting uses more water than usual and removes all traces of detergent with 5 rinses which is great for those with sensitive skin, it is also very useful when dying clothes.
• Stain blaster is good for stubborn marks and stains
• Daily is a wash for freshening up clothes and only takes 29 minutes so is very handy. there is also a daily 44 minute cycle which is better for larger amounts of lightly soiled clothes. these 2 wash at 40.C unless you change it
• It also has the a setting for the most efficient full load which takes just under an hour.
• Time Saver Function when selected this will save around 50 minutes from a cycle
• There is also a Half Load Function which is automatic and it adjusts the amount of water used for smaller loads saving time and energy, its also good if you have a water meter.
• Fast iron setting will keep the clothes in the final rinse until you are ready to stop it- it will then do the final spin and if the clothes are put straight into a dryer they need very little ironing which is great

There is also a delay timer which is adjustable for up to 9 hours40 degree normal wash time - 175 minutes
40 degree rapid wash -29 minutes
40 degree full normal - 59 minutes
40 degree daily wash lightly soiled clothes - 44 minutes
