The American sitcom which is shown all over the world has put smiles on many faces. The show is based around an average American family, mother, father, two daughters and a son. And an aunt, who is sister to the mother of the family.

The show is based around the family of an average American household. But things change once the mother's sister (Faith) comes to stay. Faith, (the washed up TV actress says she still has what it takes to be an actress again, and always thinking of new ways to hit the Tv screens again. The father is played by Ted McGinley, star in Scrubs, who is an orthodontist in the show, married to Hope. Hope is the average Mum who makes cookies, and treats for the family. Her dream is to be a chef and does become a chef with her half brother who makes an appearance in the show. In the show are three children, two girls, and one youngest boy.

There are alot of forums asking for the show to be brought back as it was such a big success with older and younger viewers all around the world.

Kelly Ripa as Faith Fairfield - I would say one of the most popular characters, and a character who is seen as the funniest. Faith is the washed up TV actrress who loves her Emmy award she won for being in an American TV soap. She wishes she could return to her TV career, but thinks that taking on a regular job would lower her chances of becoming that actress again. Faith does not get on with Charlie who is the head of the household. He and Hope (mother), let Faith stay at their house rent free. Faith does not have a job, and often relies on Faith for money, and to be taken places. Faith is my favorite character, without her the show would be awful. She is a scream but you have got to be a lover of comedy, and stupidness to love her. She does find romance in the show, with sports stars, news readers, and other men she finds attractive. She does get married in the show, and does some very stupid things. She can now be seen hosting a chat show in America.

Faith Ford as Hope Shanowski - The mother of the household want shte best for her children. Always putting them first, ahead of herself. She will do anything for anyone. She is part of the PTFA. She cooks and cleans, and does not go to work. She and Hope later on in the show start a caterer business, and have some laughs along the way. She is married to Charlie, and do not always see eye to eye. Her part is played so well, and could not imagine the show without her in it.

Ted McGinley as Charlie Shanowski - The father of the household is a orthodontist. Not keen on Faith staying at their house many years rent free. Him and Hope have arguments about silly things, and often is Charlie's fault. He is a sports fan and helps his kids out alot. The show is good with him in although we do not see as much of him as we do Hope & Faith.

There are quite a few other characters to mention, but if you watch the show you will get right into it after the 3rd or 4th episode.
It is not the sort of show that I would normally watch as I am not really a fan of American comedy shows, but this is by far one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. It is so well written with a great cast.
