...Shall we play trains today? I am looking at the FlyingScotsman Made by Brio.
Brio has been making wooden toys for a long, long time. Brio, a Swedish firm now multinational began in 1884 as a basket making company and developed to making wooden toys wooden trains are brilliant toys. Brios also make prams, cots, high chairs and car seats.
The flyingScotsman toy train is a wooden train built to go with the brio wooden trainsets.
This brio toy is a good reproduction of the FlyingScotsman's engine and tender. This toy is authentically reproduced; details make it like the real train. The flyingScotsman is Green with black details. The engine number and LNER written in gold. Makes me feel all nostalgic for those years of steam. The length of this toy train is 160mm. Advantages: cheap, lots of add-ons Disadvantages: pieces do not stay attached
...for 5 up, although the box says 3. My daughter is 4 and even she had difficulty being gentle enough not to pull the pieces apart.
I like this set because my son throws the pieces around but they havn't even marked let alone broke. An electrictrainset would be in the bin by now. Saying that, we have only had this set for two weeks.
I plan to put this trainset away for a few years and take it back out when he appreciates it. Or maybe I will set it up without the bridge, as this is the part that is not very steady.
Wooden trainsets are available in lots of other stores but are often over-priced. Tesco sets are of the same standard for a fraction of the price.
Find this in your local branch of Tesco, or visit www.tesco.com for information on Tesco stores, offers and help....

Advantages: great value for money, well made, compatible with other makes Disadvantages: unfortunatley the full range is not yet availible online at tesco.com
...i also got my 3 year old a wooden trainset from tesco, infact i got 4 sets so we could make one big huge track. it was the best toy, both, fun wise and value wise i have ever spent money on, and being a mum of 7 thats saying something.we add to it when we do the weekley shop, a train, a bridge,a packet of track parts, a turntable.. and the list goes on, i think we have over 400 pieces now, i have also added to it through ebay,as its compatible with all other wooden train tracks and acessesories (a few too many s`s??) and also a train table.i would very highley recommend tesco`s brilliant wooden trainset..at around £10 for a 54 piece set,inc bridge trains etc, u just cant go wrong.... go on treat yourself !! ( or the kids)...
