Advantages: Horror Masterpiece from the mind of legendary director George A. Romero, zombies, blood, comedy - what more do you want?
Disadvantages: Made in the 70s on a very low budget and in black and white, but you can't complain too much!

A true classic, the first part of Romero's "Dead" trilogy is a great start to the series. Although the budget was low Romero makes the most of the black and white film to add a sense of darkness to a slightly humourous screenplay. Romero went where no one had ever been before, and haven't been there as successfully since. I have watched this film in both colour and black and white and i must say that it has a much better affect in black and white as it appears more realistic and you are not continually pointing out the poor speacial effects. Advantages: Well-built suspense, compelling enough story
Disadvantages: Very dated, some wooden acting

Barbra and her brother, Johnny, are taking flowers to their father's grave.
