Carrie-Stephen King -a must read book... Advantages: great book Disadvantages: none ...to know that the novel Carrie (1974) was initially rejected by several publishers. Discouraged Stephen King through it to trash, but his wife, Tabby, saved it and recommended some changes that involved also an extension of the original novel. Carrie was intended to be no more than a psychological novel about the inner world of women with occult elements and some violence. But when the volume became mentioned together with novels like The Exorcist ... ...despair reaches interior climax, Carrie rediscovers a terrifying power - telekinesis - which transforms her from a naive teenager into a vengeful demon, cause she can move, throw, crush and fire at any distance. The fog by James Herbert... Can't get much better than James.H Advantages: Great for lovers of gore, Amazing story line and really easy to get into Disadvantages: I guess the gore if you aren't it to that type of thing! ...am a huge fan of the author James Herbert and was bought a load of his books for my birthday. I decided to read this one first and I am so glad I did. I found the book really gripping and was able to finish the book in a matter of days. Althought this isn't one of my favourite James Herbert books I did find it very readable and couldn't really put it down. Unfortunately with books I always try and guess the ending but I was unable to guess the correct ... ...the gore just heightened my interest. I really enjoyed the fact that you got to learn about the characters in the book rather than having to guess what went on in their lives. The attention to detail on the characters was amazing, it really made you feel that you understood what the character was going through. I would definitely recommend this book to others and I have already started giving out the ones I have already read! ... IT, King's masterpeice. Advantages: Details prose, emotional and terrifyingly good. Disadvantages: May be a bit too long for some readers. ...works in the genre. It is a long book, probably the longest next to The Stand but it is worth every page, so may not be a very good recommendation for all readers. Regardless of how many King book you have read in the past, IT will surely blow you away. For all Horror fans in general Stephen King’s IT, truly is a masterpiece. A good read Advantages: Worth the money and is a good read. Disadvantages: Had no social life through this book. The dark tower. The gunslinger. The first part of the dark tower series is 'The gunslinger'. The story is set in a fantasy world about 'Roland of Gilead' the last of the gunslingers. The hero is on a quest to find the mysterious dark tower whilst also hunting 'The man in black', who you don't get introduced to until near the end. On his quest 'The gunslinger' meets other strange and wonderfull characters which make the book more readable, one of ... ...strange world. Although i thought the book was fantastic it seemed at times the story wasn't progressing, but towards the end it picked up again and i couldn't put it down. I was then just waiting to get my hands onto the second part. I paid £7.99 from WHSmith but this was a couple of years ago and is probably alot cheaper now. Dissapointing read from an up and down author (Cell - King) Advantages: You'll still be able to use your phone Disadvantages: Strangely Kingless feel ...one of his low points. Cell was in fact the first Stephen King book I attempted to read, and knowing of his renown as a world famous horror writer was massively dissappointed.
