A little different to her norm Advantages: An engrossing read Disadvantages: Slow to start ...Vampire Chronicle!!! Although its by the same author and later the two threads overlap (see blackwood farm) the style and characters are quite different. Rather than her traditional first person narative at which Rice excells we're stuck in the strange neverland of the omnipresent narrator, that cannot replace the awesome protagonists of earlier novels. Despite this the all encompassing atmosphere that typifies Rice's book is still present particularly ... ...For the first few chapters you probably will be confused, but I think that's meant to be part of it, after the plot gets going its as captivating as any other book I've read. Look out for the everpresent Talamasca, and enjoy a breather from the Brat Prince. The Skeleton Detective Advantages: The whole story Disadvantages: It had to end... Detective Skulduggery Pleasant has been dead for hundreds of years. But he's been alive for longer. Skulduggery comes to her rescue and begins an action-packed relationship of investigation and comical violence against the dark lord Nefarian Serpine. Slowly, Stephanie gets introduced into the hidden world of magic, and learns to use her own powers. I discovered this book by a school event, where I had a choice of good books. Carrie by Stephen King, amazing mind catching thriller Advantages: wonderful storyline, great imagination Disadvantages: not suitable for younger readers ...and book. The storyline to Carrie is intelligent and well written, in my opinion it is a wonderful film, and unlike some horrors, it scares you not through gore and making you leap out of your seat with fear, but it uses clever and insightful language and real life experiences which i believe makes a better horror any day. Misery - Stephen King Advantages: Psychological thriller, a roller coaster of emotions Disadvantages: A bit slow in places ...favourite novels, the creator of Misery Chastain, she couldn't believe her luck and decided to keep him all to herself.
