Advantages: excellent read
Disadvantages: DONT READ BEFORE BED TIME !!!

Laymon's best book. It can be read in one and is excellent my first book of of his i couldnt put his book down, and had to remember to breathe Laymon is able to put normal, everyday characters in extreme situations and watch them fight for their lives. ...

A straightforward scary story

Disadvantages: Nothing really outsatanding

The Woods Are Dark was only Laymon's second published novel, and his writing has improved a great deal since then. That's not to say it's a bad book, but it is much more straightforward and simplistic than his later novels, and only about half the length. ...
