Psychomarvelous!
Review of Psychosphere Trilogy - Brian Lumley by
baalzamon
Advantages: Gripping sci-fi horror
Disadvantages: None that I can see!
...Psychomech Trilogy, comprised of Psychomech, Psychosphere and Psychamok, is one of the earlier works of best selling British sci-fi/horror writer Brian Lumley, who is best known for his best selling Necroscope series and numerous short story collections.
I'll attempt to give a relatively brief summary of each of the books.
PSYSCHOMECH
The first book begins in the early 70s and introduces us to Richard Garrison, an English soldier who loses his ... ...- £8.24 for Psychomech or Psychosphere (paperback) and £10+ for Psychamok (hardback). I should imagine that high-street shops will charge similar prices to Amazon. Amazon Traders are slightly better, but ebay seems to be your best bet, with current auctions offering each of the three for around £1-2 plus a similar amount in postage. Can't say fairer than that now, can you? ...

Advantages: Superb wrighting and definatly captures ts audience
Disadvantages: havent found one yet
the secnd in this series its just a good as the first you find yourself really wanting to know what happens to the characters. some people are put off by the front cover but its just as addictive as the first one. its more than just a vampire story its dark bnut delightfull you can feel empathy for the characters if you like the first one you will love this things can only get better. harry koegh now has no body and is living in his sons body. while ... ...thret of the vampires it really captures the imagination of what people could be able to achive. i recommend that you read the first in the series as they follow eachother so well and you may not be able to compleatly comprehend what this storys about but its definatly worth evey penny ...

All bad things come in Threes
Review of Necroscope: The Touch - Brian Lumley by
MarkKerr
Advantages: A Fantastic Story, Well Told
Disadvantages: No Wamphyri!
...latest in the series - Necroscope: The Touch. In my view, Lumley is improving all of the time in making his human characters 'human'. In this latest novel, their frailties, personalities, actions and interactions encourage you to get under their skin, to empathise, to will them onwards and upwards. Another good sign is that you'll also get frustrated and irritated with them at times!
The villains of the piece, the Mordri Three are, quite literally, ... ...the previous novels to understand Necroscope: The Touch.
At the beginning of the novel, we are introduced to a somewhat reluctant hero, Scott St John. Scott is mourning the loss of his wife, an investigative journalist, when he's struck by a golden light, a fragment of the Necroscopes soul. Scott gets embroiled with a mysterious woman who seems to be dogging his every move and the presence of Harry hasn't gone un-noticed by the remainder of E-Branch ...

The Necroscope meets Lovecraft
Review of Necroscope IV: Deadspeak - Brian Lumley by
baalzamon
Advantages: A wonderful blend of themes from two of my favourite authors
Disadvantages: None worth mentioning
...favourite series of novels - Necroscope IV: Deadspeak.
PLOT SUMMARY NECROSCOPE I - III
Harry Keogh is a necroscope, indeed THE necroscope, which means he can talk to the dead! In the first instalment Harry was recruited by INTESP, the psychic branch of the British intelligence service. Also in the first novel, Harry came up against Boris Dragosani, a necromancer, a man who could interrogate the dead by means of making them feel the pain of the ... ...by vampires!
PLOT - NECROSCOPE IV
Just when it ought to have been safe to sleep without bulbs of garlic round your neck, INTESP stumble across yet another vampire whilst trying to crack a drug racket. The biological son of Faethor Ferenczy (also the vampiric sire of Thibor Ferenczy), Janos Ferenczy had been truly dead for several centuries, but before he died he used dark magics to arrange for his rebirth. Armed with awesome mental powers, Janos ...
