An Enjoyable Book
Review of Dark Mountain - Richard Laymon by Sugarsparkle5

Advantages: Suspense, action, scary moments, fantacy & its very good
Disadvantages: Took a while to get going

I found dark mountain an enjoyable book with lots action, adventure, horror and suspence going on. Its about two familys that go camping together when strange things start to happen when they encounter an evil witch and her son who live in the mountains. They stick together and try to stay alive. If you like a bit of adventure mixed in with horror then this is just for you. I would also say that this book has a splash of fantasy to it. It was a ... Read review

A female vampire could seek revenge on you
Review of Dreadful Tale - Richard Laymon by Little-miss

Advantages: great read
Disadvantages: some stories seriously unbelievable

I enjoy the lighter option of short stories from time to time, especially if I can only cope with half an hours worth of reading time, rather than trying to concentrate on an ongoing storyline. I couldn't really refuse this book when I spotted it in the shop as Richard Laymon is one of my favourite authors. There are twenty five short stories in this collection, all of which have been published in various magazines. I'll share some of my favourites ...
...and give the whole book away. Richard Laymon's plots seem to take on a very bizarre sense. Some plots I cannot even begin to understand, and these lose my interest straight away, but the majority grasp my attention enough to be intrigued as to what the outcome will be. ***PAYING JOE BACK*** Revenge is so sweet, but even revenge can take on it's own twist as this story portrays. Set in a diner called Joe's Bar and Grill, the customers seem to have ... Read review

You shouldn't play with Ouija boards
Review of Darkness, Tell Us - Richard Laymon by erinmitch

Advantages: ooooohhh scary
Disadvantages: oohhhhh scary

Dr Corrie Dalton thought it would be a good idea to throw an end of term party for her six summer class students. She may have thought differently had she known they would find her Ouija board and get it into there heads to play it. Reguardless of her caution they decide to try it out anyway and summon the spirit of Butler who claims that it can lead them to hidden treasure. After leading them to some cash stuffed down the back of the sofa they ...
...Before they can go any further they are interrupted by the doorbell. It's Chad the brother of Corries deceased husband she hasn't seen since he left without a word several years earlier. The students leave so Corrie and Chad can catch up (and catch up they do!!!) but not before they steal the board so they can claim the treasure Butler claims is in the mountains. When Corrie realizes what has happened the next morning she feels responsible so ... Read review

Can Lori defeat the dream demon?
Review of Demon (Point Horror) - Samatha Lee by Jonni_boi

Advantages: A really great book
Disadvantages: Must have alot of time by yourself as it's unputdownable

...it all by killing the demon or does she keep it all when killing him? You NEED to find out and the only way you can is by reading this book! Buy it now before the demon gets you! What I thought of it *************************** If there was a competition for the best books in the world, this WOULD be in the TOP 5, it should be anyway! It seriously that good! The Cost ****************** Well when I bought it, it came with 2 other books which ...
...now it's much cheaper, DO NOT BUY it from a shop because it would cost you £4.99, a good price but it's always good to get it cheap, but if you can't find one cheaper then get it for £4.99 it is worth reading, and in my opinion you should stop reading this review and go and buy the book! Does it look appealing? **************************************** In my opinion it wouldn't appeal to many people, considering the cover, but I bought it due to ... Read review

Will Coyote Save The Day Again?
Review of Demon II - Samantha Lee by Jonni_boi

Advantages: A good read
Disadvantages: gets boring at times

...and that review was on Demon - Samantha Lee, as it is the first book. Although in my opinion that story was by far better than this one although this one did capture you but not as good as the other one. It felt to me as if it was a quick story that came to mind and she just decided to make a second one and also it felt rushed, though then again maybe if I hadn't have read the first one maybe, just maybe I would have liked this story a bit better ...
...sort of thing, there's a demon in the dreamcatcher. For anyone who doesn't know what a dreamcatcher is, it's a wooden thing, it's really hard to describe it, but to find out search Google images, anyway the historic bit of it is that children, back in the days when it was made, believed that if you put it on the bed knob of you bed and then went to sleep it would capture your dream and make it reality. Basically making dreams come true. Now for ... Read review
