Exquisite Corpse... Exquisite
Advantages: Very engrossing. VERY well written. Disadvantages: Not for the faint hearted.
Having already read Lost Souls by Ms Brite I came to this book with very high hopes, and I most definitely wasn't disappointed. I think I finished this book the first time in 2 sittings. True to Brite style this book doesn't pussy foot around. Anne Rice hints, Stephen King shows you, and Poppy Brite grabs you by the back of the neck and plunges you face first in it. The story begins with British serial killer, necrophiliac and HIV positive Andrew, ... ...all the mucky details of what this man likes. Lines such as 'Yes, dead boys can get hard' are not out of place in this book. It moves on to Tran, a boy in New Orleans with a highly traditional family, who has a penchant for cross-dressing and older men. His ex Luke is also introduced, a writer who since being diagnosed with HIV got extremely into drugs and became abusive to Tran. And finally, we have Jay, another serial killer based in New Orleans. ...

What i think about endless night
Advantages: Very good read, very graphic Disadvantages: none
Endless Night was by far the best richard laymon book i have read, if not the best book i have ever read. He is a very graphic writer so this is not for the squeemish. I however love the detail he gives. He really puts a picture into your head and you really get to know the characters.
Its a great read and you will probably find that once you get into it you wont be able to put the book down as your on edge all the time about whats going to happen ...

Ender's Game
Advantages: Brillant in it's own right, lots of twists. Disadvantages: Series was a let down.
I don't know what it is about this book that i find so good. But i keep coming back for more, every time i read it i pick on some sort of back story which i didn't even notice the first time. The way all the characters interact so successfully, losing the sense of falseness some novels portray. It's full of twists and tricks throughout that make it a throughly enjoyable read, however the other books in the series that Orson Scott-card also wrote ...

Everything's Eventual
Advantages: Contains some of Stephen King's best recent horror stories Disadvantages: Compared to his earlier collections is a bit more hit-and-miss
'Everything's Eventual' (2002) by Stephen King ****
This is the first collection of short stories by Stephen King I have read since 'Four Past Midnight' way back in 1990. I have always considered him a master of the form and, if anything, a better short story writer than he is a novelist - though I'm sure he wouldn't be too pleased to hear it.
Previous collections include: 'Night Shift' (1978) ***** [astonishingly good], 'Different Seasons' (1982) ... ...(1990) ****½, 'Nightmares And Dreamscapes' (1993) & 'Hearts In Atlantis' (1999) - the last two of which I have yet to read.
Compared to his early superlative collections I have to say 'Everything's Eventual' is something of a mixed bag. Never less than entertaining there are still more filler stories here than in my previous experience and rather too many moments when, having finished a tale, I couldn't help thinking "it was okay but King is capable ...

shaun hutson
Advantages: not to long and drawn out Disadvantages: none i loved it
one of his best, this book was fantastic..based on a small town and family... full of detail you will lose yourself in his words, well written and will leave you on the edge of your chair. a hard one to put down, if you like the style of shauns books, this one is a defo. most of his books do have a strong theme... but this on is a chilled out no need to think to much to enjoy it... great for the holidays. not to long, doesnt get boring half way through, ...
