From the Corner of his eye, Dean Koontz
Advantages: Will keep you entertained for hours Disadvantages: You won't want to put it down
This is the one book that has stayed in my mind for years and I can read over and over again. Dean Koontz has a way of keeping you mesmorised for hours. This book has been written in a way that only Dean Koontz can do, and its impossible to describe and I'd highly recommend reading this book. It is about an 8 year old boy who has lost his Dad, but isn't sad about losing his Dad because he is able to step between 'worlds' and in another 'world' his ...

From a buick 8 came a torrid book
Advantages: Loosely based on a true story, written after stephen king's car accident, some very nice styles and enthrawling twists! Disadvantages: A killer car hrmmm... could this be Christine no.2?
...handling a fresh, new book from the shelf, the sweet papery scent that escaped it's clutches as you flickered through the pages, ahh the hidden delights of books.
I think Tom got slightly exasperated on many occasions when I looked at this novel, it's divine purple flashes of light drew my attention, it's chrome fender on the cover flashing with sweet elegance ahhh what a cover hehe, but I was warned and never took the advice but I want to read ... ...the other the aftermath but From a Buick 8 does not fit into either category. Part was written beforehand and the rest finished after. Stephen King is a complete perfectionist and refuses to release a first draft, most of his novels and this in particular had certain references included that needed double checking and so resulted in a truthful display of Stephen King's modern day novels.
I mentioned that the book is loosely based on a true story, ...

Four Past Midnight
Advantages: Book scares you into uncontrolled bowel movements Disadvantages: May cause the reader to go into shock
...of macabre himself composed of four chilling short stories or novellas. If you love horror stories that can drive you into paranoia and have you sleeping with the lights on THIS IS THE PERFECT NOVEL TO READ. This book is composed of very different and intensely chilling novellas. These are: The Langoliers: This begins where passengers who have been sleeping on a plan wake up to find they are alone and that those who were awake have disappeared; and ... ...but I am going to tell you that from there, things take a horrifying turn, and no, it's nothing like the average airplane movie and does not include terrorists. Secret Window Secret Garden: A man accused of plagarism
The Library Policeman: You have to read this. This is just sick, and scary. It's about the main character sam who has a terrifying encounter with "the library policeman" when he was younger and is now afraid to set foot in a library.

Dog/Man or Man/Dog
Advantages: Not a scarey horror storey Disadvantages: You might ned to read twice to grasp
A different, thinkers horror book. Probably in the Horror Genre because of the author and and his earlier books. Dated now but does stand the test of time
A relatively short book compared to some other horror writers but no less a good book. It is different and starts you thinking from page one.
Then undertake the trek of a man to recover his life only to find out he is a dog. Or the trek of a dog to regain his life as a man.
It is difficult to ... ...but is this dog a man or is this man a dog. Suffice to say he has 4 legs and barks so why should he think like a man and as soon as he realises who is is(was) then why is he a dog???????
Re-incarnation it might not be but this dog has a grudge so don't take his bone.
Go to your local library and borrow the book. ...

I'll keep my own flesh thanks
Advantages: a gripping read Disadvantages: if you don't like horror, you wont like this
...is of course, Richard Laymon.
Flesh is one of Richard Laymon's earlier novels being published in 1988. Set in America as all his books are, the novel sets itself around a community of people, the main character being a policeman looking to fight crime within the community and generally rid all bad guys. This isn't always the easiest thing to do when circumstances and beings beyond your control is out to destroy all normality.
The story starts with ... ...of the book.
Personally Flesh is a book unlike an I have ever read before, yet it doesn't bore me like some books that contain weird beings and supernatural characters etc.
It's an easy read at 333 pages, and wont have you flicking back through the pages trying to remember what complicated piece of detail you may have missed on the previous page. Yet it's not quite as easy reading as chick lit can be either.
I can highly recommend Flesh to you ...
