Sex, blood and rock 'n' roll
Advantages: Great story, wacky characters Disadvantages: It's like reading porn at times
...to find his favourite group, Lost Souls, to see if they can help him find his way. He is picked up by a strange group of people, the beautiful Zillah, Molochai and Twig, who appear to live life by partying hard. Before long, it becomes clear that Zillah and Nothing have a strong bond. But is it a healthy one? And can his friends Ghost and Christian help him to see the truth before it is too late? I love horror, but haven't really read all that much ... ...character. The lead singer of Lost Souls, and best friend to the other member of the band, Steve, he is able to read minds and has strange visions. Constantly terrified that something awful will happen to Steve, he spends nearly all his time trying to keep him safe, but also has time to show concern for Nothing and Steve's ex-girlfriend. Christian is another vampire, but unlike Zillah et al, he is much more mature in his behaviour, only killing when ...

Lasher
Advantages: any Anne rice fan will enjoy this Disadvantages: flicks from one thing to another in the middle
Lasher is book 2 out of 3 of the mayfair witch trilogy (the witching hour, Lasher and Taltos) if you haven't read the first book then this review will be of no use, i can't put anymore information as it will spoil the first book.It continues the story of Rowan Mayfair and Michael Curry. In the witching hour we meet Lasher as only a spirit who has been helping/haunting the powerful Mayfair witches.
It becomes obvious that he wants to become of the ... ...Michael Curry and haunted by Lasher the spirit Lasher having now been reborne of Rowan Mayfair and keeping her prisoner now wants to reproduce more demons like himself,( but can he do it with Rowan or other Mayfair females) mainly a female so they produce a strong demon to help them get their ideal goal. Rattus Rattus
Advantages: One more to go! Disadvantages: Could have been clearer character blending with Rats
...setting much more pleasing in Lair than in The Rats, simply because it was out of a dreary London street/sewer and into the fresh green surroundings of the forest. The book was published in 1979 but it does not feel as dated as the first one did to me and the background was much more pleasurable to read about, which actually led to more horror as the animals were massacred by the rats.
The ending of this book was very good and I have to say it could ... ...I was reading as it has been so well written that it is hard to tell what will become of everyone and has to be one of my favourite endings of a horror story. There was enough gore and horror to satisfy fans and enough character story tied in with the revulsion to satisfy the less blood lusty of us.
Overall, I am again very pleased that there is one more book to read in this trilogy, being Domain, and I look forward to it with anticipation. ...

Darren Shan - Lord Loss
Advantages: Very easy to read and to get into. very humouress along with gripping. Disadvantages: you really only get it in its full glory if the sequels are read.
Lord Loss is the first book of the ten book saga of the ‘Demonata’writtenby Darren Shan. The Demonata is the second series that Shan has written coming after the widely successful Saga of Darren Shan (aptly named I guess). ‘Lord Loss’ was released June 6th 2005 within the UK. Darren Shan is the number one best seller of teenage horror but I would really like to point out that he is often refered to as a childrens auther but a lot of the material ... ...series really. On its own Lord Loss stands as a gripping story but is over way to fast without the sequels to back it up.
‘The door feels red hot, as though a fire is burning behind it.I press an ear to the wood – but theres no crackle. No smoke. Just deep, heaavy breathing… and a curious dripping sound. My hand’s on the door knob. Inside the room, somebody giggles – low, throaty, sadistic. THere’s a ripping sound, followed by snaps and crunches. ...
