Advantages: Hutson back on form Disadvantages: None
...plane/beach/at the villa/etcetera. I spotted Hell To Pay in a rack of paperbacks. I decided to give it a go. What did I have to lose? It's free to borrow from the library, so if it's rubbish; c'est la vie.
It wasn't rubbish. It was great. A return to form. A return to the good old days of sex and violence, troubled maverick coppers and underlying supernatural terror.
Here's a summary of the plot and characters: DI Alan Fielding is investigating ... ...was a nice touch.
Hell To Pay retails at £6.99, which is the going rate for a paperback. I got it out of the library for free. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes horror fiction, particularly if you enjoy urban British horror. I also recommend you join your local library. Two for one special.
Advantages: Entertaining with a good twist to the end Disadvantages: None really
...their opinion were better and Hybrid was one of those so I took the plunge.
When I got the book I was a bit worried about the cover as if I had seen this on a bookshelf I would have assumed it was a horror story and left it well alone however the reviewer and the blurb on the back suggested something different so I switched all the lights on in the house (just incase) and started to read. It was only after I finished the book that I noticed it does ... ...the case I would say it is at the mild end of the horror spectrum.
The Plot
The plot evolves around one single character, a once famous writer Christopher Ward whose career is very much in decline. He leads a solitary life in a rather large house struggling with periods of writers block as he struggles to write his latest novel. Increasingly he seeks to find comfort in alcohol and the occasional sexual encounter with a prostitute other than that ...

This is one hot read
Advantages: Graphic detail Disadvantages: All books must end
Lucy's Child was the second Shaun Hutson book that I bought and because his books are so good i now own lots of them.
This book is fully of graphic gory detail which many authors do not include in thier stories. I absolutuely loved it and could read it again and again. The story as with all of Hutson's books are amazing and the end of every chapter leaves you NEEDING to read the rest. I just could not put this book down and read it within a week ...

Pretty average, but good
Advantages: Hutson is a famous writer Disadvantages: There's nothing to set it apart from the crowd
Macmillan have managed to pull off a coup here and have secured Shaun Hutson, where previously he used to write for Little, Brown & Company. This is his first novel under his new contract and things do not seem to have changed at all.
Five-year-old Becky goes missing in a crowded shopping centre but is returned safely by Adam Walker. Hailey is Becky’s mother and her marriage is turning to rubble. She wants to have an affair with Walker to ... ...to please.
Hailey later tries to end the relationship and wonders if Adam is responsible for acts of minor vandalism committed against her home and family. On the other hand, is it someone else wanting revenge? The harassment turns to violence and Hailey finds herself in deep trouble.
The title is from a comment made by artist Andy Warhol, when he said that everyone would have fifteen minutes of fame. Here, Hutson uses real life serial killers ...

one of his best, this book was fantastic..based on a small town and family... full of detail you will lose yourself in his words, well written and will leave you on the edge of your chair. a hard one to put down, if you like the style of shauns books, this one is a defo. most of his books do have a strong theme... but this on is a chilled out no need to think to much to enjoy it... great for the holidays. not to long, doesnt get boring half way through, ...
