Go at your own risk! Acid dripped into eye
Review of Sk:n Clinics by goonies

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Acid in eye, nurse tried to complete treatment before tending to my eye.

...went to the East Finchley sk:n clinic expecting great results as I suffer from acne scarring. Before attending my appointment, I was sent an information pack about the clinic and procedures that they do. The information was well presented and it made me feel that it was worth paying more to get treatments through the clinic as there are only doctors or nurses who undertook the treatments. The first consultation went well and the nurse advised that ...
...ever go back to any sk:n clinics again and would advise anyone interested to shop around as there are many clinics out there that would do a better job. All I could think about was luckily, I did not ask for any laser treatment as I would definitely be blind by now. When I left the clinic, I went to the car and told my partner how unhappy I was with the treatment. He told me to go back immediately to complain, which I did. When we went back to the ... Want Super Skin then Sk:n is the place to be!
Review of Sk:n Clinics by shazzaspannered

Advantages: The effects were amazing, skin looked smooth and clear afterwards, Non invasive
Disadvantages: Quite expensive, effects on last for so long

...company caught my eye - Sk:n Clinics. These clinics have a few premises around the UK and offer a number of services that not only help with skin rejuvenation but also laser hair removal, tattoo removal, teeth whitening and even cosmetic surgery. I however was more interested in the skin treatments they offered which are microdermabrasion, glycolic acid peels, tca easy peels, treatments for lines and wrinkles, temporary and permanent skin fillers, ...
...be a facial peel. At Sk:n they do various kinds of peels and I had assumed she meant the kind that made the whole surface of your skin peel off in chunks which are called tca peels, she told me that my skin really didn't need that level of peel and explained that they also do a low intensity glycolic acid peel which she felt would be more suitable. Unlike the peels you see on makeover programmes such as 10 Years Younger these kinds of peel do not ... Read review

Wonderful place staffed by compassionate people
Review of Fetal Medicine Centre, London by Mumof3beauties

Advantages: State of the art equipment and well trained and competant staff.
Disadvantages: None

...I first came accross the Fetal Medicine Centre when I was doing research as a somewhat shellshocked new mum of a baby boy born with Down Syndrome in April 2004. I bcame preganant again the following year and immediately called the centre to book the Nuchal T and blood tests combined with CVS. I found the receptionist who took my call to be extremely helpful and patient, explaining the procedure in an unhurried way. Within 3 days I had my information ...
...was only treated with curtesy, respect and patience. It was a lovely, clean and welcoming place with wonderful staff bar none and I would reccommend it to anybody without hesitation. The fact that all the fees paid go to research into fetal medicine only raises the centre in my estimation. ... Read review

A major hospital should treat its customers better
Review of Royal Free Hospital, London by lilwatchergirl

Advantages: Generally good facilities; skilled specialists; easily accessed by public transport
Disadvantages: Patients' experience is often poor; some facilities not up to standard

SUMMARY The Royal Free, Hampstead NHS Trust is a large north London hospital that sees about half a million patients a year. It offers a wide range of treatment types, from a major A&E department to a nationally-recognised secure disease control unit. The majority of its clients come to the hospital for outpatient treatment. For this reason, I was shocked to find that my experience as an outpatient at this hospital was not at all positive. DETAILS ...
...my first experience of the Royal Free, and it was an extremely negative one. I was treated very roughly, despite my clear explanation that I was a chronic pain sufferer. My referral, from a leading specialist in my condition, was not taken seriously, and the physiotherapist tried to persuade me not to have hydrotherapy. When I insisted, because my consultant had told me I needed this treatment, I was grudgingly offered a few sessions. I left hoping ... Read review

Laser Hair Removal at Oxfordshire Clinic
Review of The Chiltern Medical Clinic, Reading by kate_mustoe

Advantages: Practically Permanent removal of hair, Ego Boost
Disadvantages: Cost may be prohibitive for some

...Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). One of the symptoms of this condition is excess facial hair. This has been heightened by the fact that I come from quite a hairy family anyway and in addition I have dark brown hair. Most women who have dark hair end up dealing with the dreaded moustache but with PCOS this develops into pronounced facial hair on the chin and generally the "beard" area. Other symptoms include a loss of control over your weight and so all in ...
...trials. She told me about the Chiltern Medical Clinic and the treatments that they offer, in particular their Laser Hair Removal treatments. Now comes the Science bit !!:- The clinic uses a laser called the Alexandrite (Apogee Elite). This has 2 different lasers to allow the clinic to treat all kinds of skin types. When the laser beam penetrates your skin it gets absorbed in the hair follicle residing under the skin surface. The laser energy destroys ... Read review
