Advantages: It does what is asked without answering back Disadvantages: Not having a child lock feature if anything - but i am being picky
...As this is a Hotpoint tumble dryer they are readily available from most high street electrical stores or online. I bought mine from Tribal on line and paid £237 but i have seen it on sale for more, so be carefull where you shop if you don't want to be ripped off.
Having checked out what was available i decided to go for the super silent, condensor model as this would save me having to cut a hole through the wall to put the pipes through rather than ... ...also meant that i could now save on buying the water that i put into my iron to make my clothes smell nice. I just pour the collected water from the dryer reservoir into a large jug add a splash of fragranced oil and pour into my bottles ready for when i do my ironing. (Ready made distilled water, and i can change the fragrance to suit my moods.)
As it is a condensor model the tumble dryer must be placed in a dry environment with plenty of circulating ...

...and eventually settled on the Hotpoint CTD0P from John Lewis. I ordered it which took 3 days to arrive and paid a very reasonable £279.00 this has now gone down by £10.00 to just £269.00.
The machine when I set it up was simple just plug in and go as it has a built in condenser that gathers up all the moisture and is emptied by removing the tray from the bottom and emptied down the sink. The instructions are very straight forward and although they ... ...no problems with it at all. Most machines of this specification would cost about the same and considering it is a Hotpoint I think you could not go far wrong. A superb dryer with super gadgets, it may be a little confusing for the elderly or non technological people, super for disabled people or people with hand problems as there are no dials to turn just light touch buttons similar to the pressing of a mobile phone number button. Advantages: You can place it anywhere in the kitchen Disadvantages: Turns your kitchen into a sauna!
OK I admit it, I bought it for the fancy blue LCD display.
The unit looks good, with a fancy count down timer, and all kinds of settings (some of which may even dry your clothes)
Remeber this is one of Hotpoints "flagship" models, proudly displays the ULTIMA branding.
In my experience, this unit damages clothes, the set and forget it function has a long way to go.
The heat and humidity does take some getting used to, especially if you have an ... ...it and have the door to the kitchen shut to block the noise out.
From an item this expensive I would expect it to at least do what it claims, i.e. dry your clothes. It's not on a fixed timer but "senses when your clothes are dry and stops" the salesmen gushed, this is not really the case. It does a bit, but if your load takes over 2:20 minutes to dry then you will be "unlucky" leaving your clothes damp and requiring either another go in the drier, ...
