I decided to write an Op on something new - where I'd never been before. When I suggested this to Mrs Claw she scoffed with no small amount of cynicism. 'The dishwasher? - Well that's certainly somewhere you've never been before!' I guess I walked into that one... Anyone thinking about buying a dishwasher should stop thinking and just do it. Its the best time saving device in the kitchen, I have a Hotpoint DWF61 which I bought two years ago and Ive not had a problem with it.There are 4 different temperature settings to use depending how badly soiled your crockery is, there is a nifty little neon light to tell you when you need to top up the salt and plenty of capacity for all your pots and pans. If your pans are really bad then you may need to wash them in the sink after but its a hundred times easier to get off. ... more

This dishwasher is one of the best purchases I've ever made! It's really quiet - you can hardly hear it when it's going. It's really economical to run and apparently uses less water than washing up by hand. All of the dishes come out sparkling - no scraps of food left on plates - even when they have been left overnight without soaking. It's a brilliant time saver and if you hate washing up like me it's a godsend! Although there's only 2 of us, it has a half load option so you don't have to use water for a full load.
