This is a great cooker. The hobs: This cooker is a standard 4 hob placement - however one is a halogen and another is a 2-part one. Halogen:Larger than the others, the halogen gets very hot in no time at all! Great for getting things to the boil in a hurry or for larger pots and pans to be used on. It is very bright when on though, but mostly the pans cover that anyway. Double: This only goes up to electric mark 4 as opposed to 6 like the others, but it's great if you still have double saucepans for doing vegetables or for better coverage of the bottom. This was my first experience with an electric cooker and to be honest it took a little while to get used to it. The hob elements do take longer than expected to heat up but when they do, they work perfectly and the safety mechanism kicks in to prevent the glass from getting too hot when left on and not in use. It is also very easy to clean. Having 2 ovens is ideal, especially when cooking large quantities of food which need different temperatures. I have this cooker and it is brilliant, It is energy saving, smart, The top oven doubles as a grill, (has a seperate knob for this) and is also a conventional oven, unlike some other models the grill is fully functional whilst the Main oven is on and has seperate operation knobs one for the twin grill another for the top oven, There is a timer which I personally could not do without, I have a large family who are quite faddy, so I have to cook several different dishes, This oven is more than adequate for this task, Cleaning of this oven is great, a simple wipe round is sufficient, but should ... more

We too have problems with the main (bottom) oven. Didn't discover at first, until at Xmas when I wanted hottest temp. for pastry, bread etc, & they wouldn't rise enough. Checked temperature & found it was far too low. As it was still under guarantee , they replaced the sensor probe & main module (sort of electronic computer board) & there was hardly any difference. If I set it for 230c (max temp) the indicator light & pinger go off to say correct temperature has been reached ,when it's about 40 deg. less than it's been set for.
