I have only used the cake and meat 'intelligent options and found the temperatures to be spot on. The others I have not used and feel unlikely to do so, these are for poultry and fish. Over all it is a smart looking cooker, and after adjusting to electric after gas for many years It has proved to be very good value for money. I would recommend this product. ... more

I have this cooker and it is brilliant, It is energy saving, smart, The top oven doubles as a grill, (has a seperate knob for this) and is also a conventional oven, unlike some other models the grill is fully functional whilst the Main oven is on and has seperate operation knobs one for the twin grill another for the top oven, There is a timer which I personally could not do without, I have a large family who are quite faddy, so I have to cook several ... ...task, Cleaning of this oven is great, a simple wipe round is sufficient, but should it get a bit grubby you can give it a full blast on top heat and it self cleans. The front glass can be pulled out for easy cleaning too. The inside of the oven is large and has a lignt and is fan assisted but should you require the oven to be conventional you have this option. In the cooking process should you open the oven door the fan shuts off thus saving energy, ...

Hotpoint (part of Indesit group) say 15c inacuracy is perfectly acceptable by the way!!! (though mine seems to be more than that)
The dual ring (front right) on the hob is not a practical shape either. On the half setting it makes a small circle for a small saucepan, but on the full setting it makes an oval shape, which is only good for a fish kettle, and how many people in the UK use those? It would have been better if it ... ...this review,some staff at Hotpoint acknowledged that other people have also had similar problems with this oven on this model, and have just replaced the cooker for me. However the new one has exactly the same problem. I cannot recommend this model at all if you will be wanting to do 'proper' baking ! ...

This has to be the worst cooker in history. Whilst the hob is fine, the oven is useless. The bottom never heats up whilst the top burns everything. To test tihs we put three pizzas into the oven, and whilst the top one was burnt the bottom one was not even warm in the middle. We have tried all the settings and had the engineer out twice but to no avail. The intelligent cooking system is a joke as it does not compensate for other items being in the oven. An annoying function is that the oven fan runs on for ages after switching the oven off. ...

Quick review of Hotpoint EW84
absolute junk the oven is appalling it doesn't heat up to proper temp. the heat distribution is beyond a joke it burns it undercooks surely this must be a health hazard, if this is the best they can come up with after years of making electric cookers they should hang their heads in shame better still stick them in their ovens nothing much will happen anyway, rubbish, only recommend this to someone you truly loathe ...
