When I moved home I decided it was time to replace my Fridge/Freezer as it was past its best and 11 years old. Having had a Hotpoint before and knowing how reliable thay are I decided to get the Hotpoint FF187E in Graphite. Reviews for this appliance were also helpful in my decision.
This is an A rated appliance.
fridge;- 4 glass shelves with Microban Antibacterial coating to protect against harmful bacteria. 1 silver wine rack which holds 4 bottles. 2 salad crisper boxes, I use mine for fruit too. 3 door pockets;- 1 of which is suitable for 2ltr bottled drinks and a fridge water jug and milk cartons too., I holds jars of jam, pickles and sauces. And the top pocket has a flap up cover in clear plastic which is ideal for butter, marg, cheese and eggs.
Freezer;- 4 drawers;- top is shallow but will hold 2ltr cartons of ice-cream and boxed cakes/desserts. 2nd drawer is ideal for up to 3 loaves of bread and or rolls etc. 3rd drawer is deeper and holds packets of frozen veg, and larger boxed foods eg burgers and pizza's. Bottom drawer is a 2/3 size and is ideal fo joints, chicken and sausages etc. Ice cube trays, are tubes that are filled to marked level and slot in to the top of the bottom 2 shelves, thus saving space.
Controls;- (situated at the top of the fridge) Dial control for fridge has settings for normal, max and a useful holiday setting which uses less power. Dial control for freezer has min, normal and max plus off, NB (off on freezer also turns fridge off) There is also a green light for power on, Super cool button (with a yellow light) for quick cooling of the fridge when putting a lot of food in. Super freeze button (with yellow light) for rapidly cooling the freezer. These 2 yellow lights will flash and a buzzer will sound if the freezer is very warm to alert you to the problem
Features;- This appliance has the NoFrost system which circulates cold air continuously to collect humidity and prevent ice and frost formation. The system maintains an optimal humidity level in the compartment, preserving the original quality of the food, and it stops foods sticking together and removes the need to defrost.

Advantages: Excellent value for money, with good looks, and extra features Disadvantages: Two breakdowns in 12 months, lots of mess, and loss of food!!!
