I have just moved into a lovely new house with my husband-to-be John and this Hotpoint HVL 211 was a house warming gift from my soon to be mother-in-law who swears by this brand, I previously owned an Indesit model which constantly broke down and ended up breaking completely after just 6 months of use, so I was far from impressed.

The Hotpoint HVL 211 is an energy efficieny rated A machine which means I am also doing my bit for global warming and climate change which we read and hear about all the time because being an energy Efficient machine it will save you money by using less electricity and water and it has a 1100rpm spin speed.

As there is only John and I in the house, I wasnt needing a washing machine that if fit for a family of six however, my mother in law to be had other ideas it seems, although I feel this washing machine is slimline it does hold a capacity for 5.5kg which is an awful lot of washing but once again it does state in the manual that it is economical on water. On this washing machine there are 16 different programmes to choose from which include a prewash and quickwash cycle and it also offers a variable temperature option which means I am able to wash both Wool and delicate silks using specified wash programmes, for me it is a really useful programme because I wear alot of cashmere jumpers and when using this programme to wash them they do not get damanged and are not left out of shape.

As this was a gift I am not sure how much was paid for the washing machine, but having looked online it does retail from £200-£279 depending on where you buy it from.

I really like this washing machine, I am impressed with how quiet it actually is especially when it is quite full of clothes compared to the Indesit one that I had which made an awful noise when it was on the final spin of the wash cycle. I also like how easy it is to use and even the manual which accompanies the washing machine is straightforward to read.
