Advantages: price (direct from manufacturers), design Disadvantages: other parts of the design!
...I approached this fridge-freezer with suspicion, because I was cornered into buying it - my previous Hotpoint had failed after a mere 4 years, the warranty I bought was declared invalid and my best bet was to buy a new product at a discount. Not the best way to choose an appliance.
At first it suffered from comparison with the previous (non-functioning) model - I am still missing the wine rack in particular. I hate the way that though we chose the most similar model still available, the internal dimensions have all been fiddled with, so that none of the old stuff will fit into the new one.
That said, I'm getting used to this model. There seems to be a lot of wasted space inside. Perhaps the shelves designed by someone with very different shopping habits, though I can't think what they'd want the very tall top shelf for. The door...

Advantages: fridge space and door space is good Disadvantages: freezer space is limited for variety of frozen stuff
...we have had this now over 4 years, only upgrading to go to a bigger hotpoint and because of new baby. it has good size space in fridge for family with one child and also door space holds a lot. if your bloke is on the taller side maybe 5 ' 10 you may want to consider another fridge freezer as he will bend a bit to get it. nice size starter fridge. only downside is freezer . only has 1 shelf and if you have like meat and ice lollies, and ice cream and ice and chicken and bacon and frozen veg and chicken nuggets, etc,,, you have to pack it properly. there is no real separation of the frozen stuff everything in all mixed in basically. it is frost free freezer and we had no maintenance problems with it at all....

Advantages: Matches my other appliances, hugh fridge capacity. Disadvantages: door handle plastic and brakes easy.
...I bought my hotpoint fridge in dec 07 as my other hotpoint decided to turn itself from a fridge into a freezer, so far it's excellent. can't belive how much it holds. It has 4 removable and easy to clean toughened glass shelves, bottle rack which can hold 5 bottles (excellent for my wine stash), easy to use temperature control dial at the front, a hugh fruit and vegetable drawer at the bottom with a separate meat compartment to store the meat in so it is not in contact with fresh things, 5 shelves in the door which 3 are removable so you can change the position of them, 1 with a lidded tray so you can store eggs which is removable and 1 at the bottom to store more bottles eg milk and big bottles. It has an automatic defrosting function. Overall so far i have had to replace the door handle which is plastic, due to the fact that my kids...

We were given this as a replacement for the RL80 - it is no where near as good -it's going back The long shelves in the door are less deep than the RL80 model and so you cannot stand a large milk container with the handle out; nor can you store... more
