Hotpoint WDL540G

I am very satisfied with my recent purchase of a Hotpoint WDL540 washer-dryer. But at the same time it does have its pitfalls. The trouble with washer dryers is that because they have to perform two different functions, one of these functions tends to be sub-standard to the other. I have used washer-dryers before where the drying facility has been quite poor, for example, leaving clothes quite damp despite being in the dryer for a significant amount of time. How much... OK, i recently bought this machine due to a minor disaster at home which left me with no washing machine for several weeks. I paid £379 for the Graphite machine, but this included delivery, fitting and warranty for 2 years. I bought mine at Woollacotts, which is a regional electrical supplier. However, i was shown the current Hotpoint catalogue and this was in there, so i am assuming it is accessible in a number of retailers - on the DooYoo site they seem to be available around the £340 price. This Hotpoint also comes as a wdl540g the grey model, so research both as they are the same machine. The machine it's self is easy to use apart from the obvious, no timer function so you have no idea how long until the end of a cycle. Actually putting a wash and dry on is easy enough. The machine it's self is loud and I mean loud, if you have a small house or open plan don't bother, could not have this machine on at night or settle to watch a film for this reason and our house is on the large side. I have recently purchased this machine and am a first time user of the washer/dryer style machine! I find that although it takes a while to boil wash, overall the machine is efficient and easy to operate, although i find the dryer a little slower than my old traditional seperate dryer, the ease of programming the machine to wash then dry means if im out, when i return home, its all done, no loading and unloading two machines......as machines go this one is very fairly priced and a good buy! this was a replacement for our old hotpoint machine which lasted around 12 years without a single problem , of freinds had a range of faults with there machines ame time ,so we opted to be loyal to the n this one. we had never had room before for a dryer and i must admit i was a little worried at having two machines in one , if one broke it meant both where broke, however not having much room we decided to give it a go , the first and most obvious diferance was the much larger drum to our older machine, and it is also much smoother running , the spin is very efficient and far better than our ... more
