this was a replacement for our old hotpoint machine which lasted around 12 years without a single problem , of freinds had a range of faults with there machines ame time ,so we opted to be loyal to the n this one. we had never had room before for a dryer and i must admit i was a little worried at having two machines in one , if one broke it meant both where broke, however not having much room we decided to give it a go , the first and most obvious diferance was the much larger drum to our older machine, and it is also much smoother running , the spin is very efficient and far better than our old machine. it has the full range of programs to suit any type of load , and is very simple to set the programs , i have found the feature which lets you go from washing straight to drying very good , the machine is very simple to plumb in and could be easly acheived by most adults , as with most modern machines it fills from the cold supply only , although a hot supply in on the machine , hotpoint provide you with a y pipe to feed both inlets from the cold supply , the waste also doubles up as the outlet for the dryer , which means only two pipes and the power cable to worry about at the rear , the only slight critasism is that the boil wash seams to take for ever to finish probably longer than our old machine. our machine gets a lot of abuse from dirty oil stained overalls , but has not let us down as yet . hopefully it will last as long as our old one .
Advantages: wash and dry in one go! Easy to set, wide ranging choice of programmes Disadvantages: slow boil wash
I have recently purchased this machine and am a first time user of the washer/dryer style machine! I find that although it takes a while to boil wash, overall the machine is efficient and easy to operate, although i find the dryer a little slower than my old traditional seperate dryer, the ease of programming the machine to wash then dry means if im out, when i return home, its all done, no loading and unloading two machines......as machines go this ...

Advantages: easy to operate Disadvantages: everything else
We bought our Hotpoint washer dryer about 3 months ago and have just had to call the engineer out for the second time, we are not impressed. I am used to having seperates but when my washing machine broke Ithought it would be a good idea to have an all in one to save space, big mistake. This machine is very easy to operate but the programmes, washing and drying take forever, I am not looking forward to receiving my electric bill this quarter. The ...
