I recently purchased this washing machine as a replacement for an older, tired Whirlpool Washer/Dryer. My previous machine was a 1000rpm speed and was deafeningly loud.
Although I was initially dubious by the claims of the machines "super silent" features, I was very impressed by the performance that the machine gives whilst still being quiet. Even on the full 1600 spin it is quite quiet - not silent obviously, but when purchasing, the sales team were honest and friendly enough to point out that super silent doesn't mean silent and that there would be some noise.
The digital display is very easy to understand and the pre-programmed options make washing very easy. Functions such as Bed and Bath, which washes on a 60degree temperature, are very helpful and bedding and bathware comes out feeling very clean and refreshed. Many of the functions can be personalised as well with extra features such as Eco Wash and Time Saver - which, depending on spin speed and temperature, states to be as low as 30 minutes.
The machine has a memory for programming own combinations for ease of use and the delay start timer is great for when you need it.
The timer is about the only thing that I seem to be having any problems with. Recommended times in the book are very clear and the digital display will show the length till end of cycle during the wash, which is a fantastic edition for the time concious, however I have yet had a wash that has finished in the time it says. For instance one wash program, with the time saver feature added will state duration as 30 minutes. The display will count down the 30 minutes as expected however upon reaching 0 will often jump back up to 15 minutes. I have found so far the 30 minute time saver wash takes around 45-50 minutes and I can honestly say I don't know why!
I am pleased with the size of the drum, the porthole is smaller than some of the other Aqualtis machines, which is a shame but the drum itself is a very nice size. Although I have not yet tried any "large items" looking at it, I do believe that it would comfortably hold a double duvet. Not tested this of course, so wouldn't like to say for certain.

On the whole a very easy to use machine, especially regarding program selection, and it also comes with a clear digital display. The machine remembers your last wash setting, so it is easy to start the next one. It gives a beep when the cycle has finished, although it does not switch off (i.e. the display panel is still on). However, it is an exceptionally quiet machine.
Regarding wash performance, a 40 degree wash only takes around an hour and ... ...gives you a lot dryer clothes than other machines.
It has a large 8 kg wash capacity which is great for family wash! But at the same time the half load facility enables you to reduce wash load and washing time - fantastic if you live on your own!
There is also a Delay Timer and a Time Remaining indicator, as well as a child lock option.
All in all, a pretty good machine if you can get it for around £300. ...

Very impressed with this machine. Excellent for families. Has a huge drum, plenty of choice of programmes that you can adjust to your own requirements and save in the memory. Variable spin up to 1600 which really dries your clothes. Child lock (essential) to stop them from changing your cycle while in use. Digital timer showing how long left, half load and Eco option. Can't find anything negative to say about it. Would highly recommend. Purchased from Appliances online. Best price and paid £9.99 to have delivered next day. Excellent service!! ...

Quick review of Hotpoint WMD960G
Very good for the first three months, then it stopped working. Repaired under guarantee - Entire 'brain' and pump replaced. Now two weeks later F18 errors even with a light load.
I am not impressed.
I can not exchange, and have to live with it. F18 is 'unbalanced load' and is aparently my fault for loading the machine incorrectly.
Never had the error before, and now the error occurs with even a few shirts!
Looking for a new machine, and will dump this one before the end of the month. F18 halts the program and the washing has to be restarted. F18 occurs every second or third wash.
Avoid this machine. ...

Advantages: washer and dryer in one. Disadvantages: cycles take forever, will make quite a noise when it operates at 1600 speed spin.
How they can call this machine super silent I don't know. Users who say it is quite are not using the 1600 spin (granted this is only on offer for the cotton cycle). Although visually the machine looks good with a digital display, the brains seem very old and I am very disappointed as I expected a lot from this appliance. If I could return it I would get a low cost washer and dryer as two separate machines - thats what I have in my second property ... ...same. Creases Galore (The drum is fairly small even though the wash is rated at 8kg). Larger drums = less creases. Good for small spaces, but don't bother getting the 1600 model. Although given the poor cycle times, it might be best to avoid this series all together. One strange item to report: if you don't undo the buttons of your shirts and run the 1600 cycle, the machine somehow breaks the buttons into pieces :( ...
