Hotpoint "super silent" feature is misleading. 08/10/2010

Advantages Looks nice.
Disadvantages Badly let down by the noise the pump makes, thus making super silent appear as a joke.

People who are thinking of buying a Hotpoint washing machine on the strength of it's "Super Silent" feature will be in for a big disappointment, this is because these models have VERY noisy pumps fitted to them which emit a loud pulsating chuffing noise which can be very annoying to listen to. Hotpoint say that this is perfectly normal and that the super silent feature only refers to the motor of the machine and NOTHING ELSE. In my opinion it is wrong for Hotpoint to advertise their machines as being super silent as this can very easy mislead the public into thinking that the whole wash cycle ... more
