Hotpoint WML540G

Purchased our WML540 from Currys on Saturday 29 November 2008, it failed on 01 January 2009. Currys refused a replacement due to the failure being outside their 28 day 'no quibble replacement ' period, instead they passed the problem to Hotpoint by contacting them to arrange a service visit. The absolute earliest service visit Hotpoint can offer is 7th January -therefore having decided to go directly for a replacement machine following the failure of our previous Bosch machine ( 5 years of hard use fair enough) we are now expected to wait for 6 days without a washing machine, not easy when you ... more

I bought this washing machine hoping it would serve me well after my old faithful broke. It has yet to disappoint! What immediately drew me to it was the design. It is very modern, sleek looking and stylish. We have a fairly contemporary kitchen so this fits in perfectly. It's an average size which is ideal for us and fitted right where our old one used to be. The silver colour is definitely unusual but it is not 'in your face' and does look quite understated which I appreciated. The washing machine is very easy to use! I believe my hubby and I made a very good choice in buying Hotpoint WML540 as replacement to our 5 years old LG Washing Machine. I fell in love with its silver color which is so trendy and quite a big change from the usual white washing machines I've previously owned. The noise it creates while doing the job is just manageable and tolerable. I love the simplicity of this product. I really hate complicated machines but this one is not. The machine was great but we then moved away for a year and rented the house out. When we came back and tried to use it, it was completely broke and apparently a few days after we left it just blew out all of our other appliances. Not too sure how reliable they are. So then we went to call out someone to fix it and he just said that it would be a waste of money to get it fixed and that we would have to buy a new one. So now we are stuck with the machine in th wall and having to go to relatives to wash and dry clothes. Its not the best of situations. Just make sure that your product will last ... more
