Purchased our WML540 from Currys on Saturday 29 November 2008, it failed on 01 January 2009.
Currys refused a replacement due to the failure being outside their 28 day 'no quibble replacement ' period, instead they passed the problem to Hotpoint by contacting them to arrange a service visit.
The absolute earliest service visit Hotpoint can offer is 7th January -therefore having decided to go directly for a replacement machine following the failure of our previous Bosch machine ( 5 years of hard use fair enough) we are now expected to wait for 6 days without a washing machine, not easy when you are a family of 5.
Also note the Hotpoint service and support lines are all 0870 (revenue sharing ) numbers. In my experience calls are not answered promptly, defaulting to option menus. After holding for 10 mins you are then informed they are unable to answer your call.
Not exactly excellent customer service from Currys and totally unacceptable product quality and service support from Hotpoint.
