I bought this album on a whim, having read a paragraph about it in the paper and liking the sound of the influences that were quoted. I can honestly say it was a lucky find and a real gem. This is Little Barrie's first album and a great debut, I don't think there's one weak track. It was produced by Edwyn Starr. I would put them more in the rock / indie / r&b category. ...melodic guitar, funky rhythm, slightly seedy almost. Little Barrie the lead singer (and he is little, I've seen him) has a great, powerful voice, not dissimilar to Mark Morriss of the Bluetones. If you like good vintage guitar, slightly 60s/70s feel to your music, you won't be disappointed in this.
