Advantages: Driven by musical passion. Great Jazz structures (+ lack of) Disadvantages: All tracks are very similar (no variation)
A must have for all JTQ fans.
This album incorporates acid jazz with the classic James Taylor quartet sound.
Opening with Joe's Diversions, the hammond organ sound takes lead throughout the album.
Vocals from new singer Yvonne Yanney bring new light to the quartet - the most prominent track being 'It's all over'.

I bought this album on a whim, having read a paragraph about it in the paper and liking the sound of the influences that were quoted. I can honestly say it was a lucky find and a real gem.
This is Little Barrie's first album and a great debut, I don't think there's one weak track. It was produced by Edwyn Starr. I would put them more in the rock / indie / r&b category. They've supported The Bees and Paul Weller in the past to give you an idea of ... ...melodic guitar, funky rhythm, slightly seedy almost. Little Barrie the lead singer (and he is little, I've seen him) has a great, powerful voice, not dissimilar to Mark Morriss of the Bluetones.
If you like good vintage guitar, slightly 60s/70s feel to your music, you won't be disappointed in this. There was a second album out earlier this year by them called Stand Your Ground but in my opinion their first album is slightly better. ...
