Advantages: Gives you loads of extra space, clear so you can see the contents inside Disadvantages: None at all
...wave when he suggested some vacuum storage bags. He said he’d seen them advertised on the shopping channel. We had no time to wait for a delivery though so we decided to go out to the shops to see if we could find some. We have a (very small) branch of Lakeland Plastics near to where we live. So, we drove out to see if they sold any. They did – but we underestimated the cost. Lakeland were selling them for £14.99 for a measly two bags. We reckoned ... ...three bags contained one large vacuum bag (55 x 85cm) and two jumbo bags (60 x 105cm). We bought three packs in total, giving us nine bags. These wonderful bags do everything they claim to do. My brother, dad and me managed to stuff a total of ten woolly tops into the large bag, 5 jackets into the second large bag and 4 coats into the next one. I have tons and tons of soft toys all over my room which I have always been unwilling to throw away, but ...
Advantages: Can be used by anyone, portable and accurate. Disadvantages: Use restricted to one socket at a time, need to know some technical stuff
Made in China and to a high standard. Expect to pay 25 pounds for this device. This seems to be a very fair price for an accurate instrument that literaly did not exist in this form 5 years ago.
There are a series of buttons to press - however it defaults to 1.
So what does it do?
1. Measures the voltage coming out of the socket - it does need to have the socket switched on. There are no batteries or serviceble parts inside. It is surprising how ... ...demand.
2. Measures the current that an appliance is taking. My electric kettle takes just over 9 amps ( More about the kettle later!) There is a maximum current of 15 amps - apparently the display flashes, and a buzzer sounds. Domestic plugs are rated at 13 amps, I would expect the fuses to blow before then.
3. Button 3 has two different displays it toggles between. The top one measures the Watts the device is taking. 1000 is 1 unit of electricity ...

Finding the Simplehuman with the Superhuman powers
Following orders, I emailed my friends a couple of days later and learned that the dish rack was made by a company called Simplehuman. I told my colleague who looked at me like some kind of lower life-form and told me her house was 'full of Simplehuman' stuff and how could I not have heard of it before? I felt like I'd just discovered the iPod only to learn that everyone else ... ...£39.99 price tag on a Simplehuman System Dishrack was at the upper end of my expectations. Actually to be honest it was way beyond the upper end - off the radar screen and off in another time-zone. It turned out they have a range of four different dish racks, ranging in size from a mini version at £19.99 for teensy kitchens owned by single people who live off Pot Noodles and take-aways, a compact version for small kitchens owned by people who don't ...
Advantages: Nice to look at, needs barely any cleaning, gives off a nice smell, makes clothing soft Disadvantages: Not super-fast, noisy, very large
I have had the JML Dri Buddi for a week now and my first impressions of this product is 'OK, this product means well. But I think more could have been done before finalising it' and my reasons for this are; The Dri Buddi does not do what it says on the tin. My first reaction to the Dri Buddi was 'Crikey, its huge!' The Dri Buddi stands about as tall as I am and I am 5'2". The bag (or tent as I like to call it) that goes around your washing to keep ... ...out even bigger when the Dri Buddi is on because of the circulating heat. Also, the Dri Buddi claims to be "Whisper Quiet" which is extremely untrue. After I assembled the Dri Buddi (which I must say was incredibly easy! It took literally under 5 minutes) I placed the Dri Buddi in the corner of my lounge and decided to try it out, I seriously could not hear my television over the noise this thing makes. It sounds like a hairdryer on full blast constantly. ...
