Because a certain member has been getting on the POW rostrum pretty much every week here there have been grumbles on ciaochatter that the POW is less about the best review winning the prize and purely about how many Excellent rates you can accrue. Well hey, guess what: you’re right! Tell us something we didn’t know! Surely the whole point of the POW is exactly that and exactly what ciao want to encourage us to do on this website – rate back! As time went on, and having probably rated a fair few POtW (as I shall hereby refer to it) reviews without realising it, I started to wonder why I was coming across 5000 word reviews of everyday food items, complete with the history of the company and blow by blow wrapper description in excruciating detail and ... more

Is there any way to randomise the reviews submitted until the competition is judged? And rate them separately?

I believe the only way to ensure the best review wins would be for reviews submitted in this category each week to appear anonymously until the competition has completed ... Would it be possible for these reviews to be available to rate in a separate section for the week, and then be attributed to the author after the winner has been chosen? ... some members shy away from both writing and rating because of the animosity which is engendered... jes
