Problems lay because some programs that where designed with XPin mind were not flexible enough to cope with the changes that were made to the system when this new service pack was installed. The majority of problems I have heard about or encountered relate to the internet, alot of ISP programs did not seem to like the new settings, and of course with no connection, getting support for the problems was kinda tricky.
This is why WindowsXP Home Edition Service Pack 2 was introduced, it was a way to solve problems for people because if it was pre installed with XP than any configuration errors could not happen as nothing had previously been conflicted. (Try saying that 5 times when your drunk!!)
Anyway, enough of the background to the product, let me start my actual review ...
Advantages: Easy booting, less crashes, much faster and yes user friendly Disadvantages: Dual boot becomes a problem
all the OS is very software friendly.
Even system crashes is far less frequent with WindowsXP Professional. It has overcome the unfriendly interface woes of Windows 2000.
The best of it is that disk partitioning and formatting the HD has become much more easier with XP which means in case your OS gives you problem, even a reasonably eloquent user can reload or even format or partition the hard disk just by reading the massages properly, in fact the option for formatting individual drives are there. The backup option is great. Create a back up of your files and remove all the partitions then format and recreate your disk partitions to your requirements.
I think it's one of the safest OS when you're online with continuos software and security updates from Microsoft, it's avisable to upgrade the ie to ie 8 for best surfing experince. To my ...

Installing XP
I booted off the CD, and started the install, which looked A LOT like Window NT 4?s install to start, but got VERY colorful and GIU-ish as I moved farther into the installation. Installing took me... about 45 minutes on my 1.4GHz AMD Duron with 512MB of RAM. Not bad, once you see howXP is.
Booting XP
First, I see my video card display information, and then it moves to my BIOS...
XP begins to boot?it says ?Microsoft WindowsXP? and has a NEW flag, and blue bars scrolling around. Having plenty of RAM, those blue bars only get almost one time around, before mines done, but I?ve seen 1.8GHz Celerons with 128MB RAM go about 22 times around there before it finished booting.
