Advantages: An interactive book Disadvantages: Very short
...This is a great interactive book for very young children, from about 18 months upwards or even younger depending on ability.
~ Colin and Jacqui Hawkins ~
This talented married couple began writing and illustrating books after reading books to their young children.
After more than twenty years, the pair have created an extensive listof children's books which are recognised world wide with sales in excess of 3 million.
I have listed some of the other books by the Hawkins:
* Busy ABC
* The Elephant
* Farmyard Sounds
* Here's a Happy Kitten
* Whose House?
* Here's a Happy Puppy
~ Here's a Happy Pig ~
This book is great to play with as well as fun to read and look at.
Initially I thought that this book would be all about a pig but I was wrong.
It introduces different animals: a dog, a kitten, a rabbit and a spider. The only reference...

***Background***
Every fortnight my son gets to go to the school library and is it amazing the types of books that he brings home without any supervision that he would normally get at the public library.

Advantages: colourful pictures, large text Disadvantages: kids get bored after a while
...Wonderfully full colour illustrations through out this book make it a very enjoyable read for both children and the bigger reader (be this a teacher, parent or elder brother/ sister). A lovely paperback book by the well known book publishers Puffin Books.
Max is the little brown and beige spotted dog in this story who finds it hard to get what he wants. He tries everything and gets quite annoyed with himself. No one will let him have a crisp, or share a toy, or even let him have a turn on the swing unless he says the magic word. .... But what is the magic word?
A lovely book with a short but sweet lesson to be learnt at the end. Teaches children patience and perceptivness of and from others. The stroy also encourages sharing, patience, negoiation and rationalising skills.
The book, although published in 1995, is a classic story which...
