Huawei e220 is the first USB modem that I use to get internet access at my house. I bought this modem 1 year ago from my friend. Until now I feel satisfied with this product. On this occasion I want to review this product based on my experience of 1 year using Huawei e220. The aspects of my reviews will include features, connection speed, signal perception, design and instalation, and price.
1. Feature There are several interesting features in the Huawei e220. First of SMS, the modem we can send SMS messages directly to another phone number and also receive SMS from other people. The second feature is the switching of connections, which we can select the connection type to be used (GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA). Another interesting facility is a network monitor, here we can see our internet connection information such as speed downloads / uploads, graphics speed, time online, and others. One thing that has not owned by Huawei e220 is not able to check the pulse. In fact,it is very important feature because dialup connection associated with the use of pulses.
2. Connection Speed Huawei e220 can support high internet dialup connection in downloading and uploading files. This is shown with connections that can covers HSDPA network that can reach 7.4 MBps. Unfortunately, Huawei e220 not support HSPA yet.
3. Signal Catching Ability Huawei e220 has good ability in capturing the connection signal, despite being in closed room and far from town but still be able to catch the signal with a very good connection, although not full.
4. Design and Installation Huawei e220 has a very simple design, which looks like a very easy Flashdisk carried everywhere. The installation is also very easy. Just plug it to your USB port then the installation will be done automatically.
5. Price. Obviously, price is fairly cheap and very affordable when compared to a very good quality given.
Until now I have not found the Huawei e220 problem is, when I use this modem every day and can be as long as 24 hours straight.
One of the less satisfied than this product will be easy to become hot on fast connections, such as download on HSDPA networks. Temperature will be very hot, so I had to plug out for some time.

There is no price comparison ~ what to you is cheap? and I do not really understand what is this HSDPA of which you speak? However, I have rated this as 'helpful' because if it had been a Quick Review I would have given it a "thumbs-up" ~~~ I also would like to know what cost it is to run this? are you using it on a mobile phone contract? like £15/month? or what?
