Hugo Boss Selection, was their 17th fragrance at its time of release (had since been overtaken by the overly-advertised XX-XY brand). If you've seen the advert with the desirable man/men objectifying male perfection, you may have bought the fragrance. And if... for some unknown reason you need to know what it smells like, this is the article for you.
Selection carries notes of mandarin, grapefruit, cedar leaves, and star anise, patchouli, and green accord. Despite the obvious fruit based content, the undoubted smell is that of a 'woody' one. A smell almost animal-like, it is syrupy, and undoubtedly sweet. More black forest gateau than lemon meringue. It is also a very deep fragrance, with manly undertones (30+). It's the smell of a man who has travelled the world but got lost along the way, someone who isn't akin to absolute luxury. A mans man, but a mysterious one at that.

Packaging-The box is a clean and concise rectangular box which encorporates the features of the bottle, with its black frame and mettalic finish. The Bottle itself has been created by Lutz Hermann who has 12 years experience in this field of design.

Overall-This is my selection. An aromatic fragrance which stands out from the overly citrus based fragrances most men seem to use today. Without being brash and sickly like them, selection is able to linger without giving away too much information- A great addition to any gentlemen's collection.
