Advantages Taste Nice, Not too fattening, round, fun!

Disadvantages Messy? Not the best ever snacks!

Hula hoops are basically round hoops of potato covered in various flavours. They have been around for ages and they are well known for their slogan involving their rounded shape.

They are now avaliable in a variety of flavours including:

Red - Original/Ready Salted
Brown - Barbeque Beef
Blue - Salt and Vinegar
Green - Cheese and onion
Pink - Prawn Cocktail

And possibly several others.

My favourite flavour has to be barbequebeef - I know many of you here on ciao.com don't approve of meat, however I am quite a fan of it and I don't think it really contains meat by-products anyway.

They taste rather potatoey, although less so than snacks. The flavourings are fairly good, although I find the ready salted flavour a bit boring and too potatoey.

The salt and vinegar flavour is probably my least favourite flavour as it really is quite vinegary! They all are quite flavoursome, and taste like the flavours they are meant to.

The barbeque beef one is fairly salty though and may not be suitable for someone on a low-salt diet.

They cost 27p (rrp) although they often cost a lot more than this in convenience style stores. At these types of stores you can expect to pay anything up to 40p per 30g packet, although they cost no more than normal walkers snacks.

They are made by KP foods, and there is a fair bit of information on their website about them (which I am not allowed to reference here - see new rules), although there are also several "dead links" on their website to look out for! Their address is:

KP Snacks,
PO Box No 4,
Ashby-De-La-Zouch,
Leicester,
LE65 2UQ

This product contains:

- 140 calories
- 8.5g Fat

And it's main ingredients are:

- Potatoes
- Salt
- Flavourings
- Vegetable Oil

They are also availabe in large multipacks of 6 or more snack, at just over £1 each (Asda Price).

My overall recomendation is that they are quite nice. They are not necesarily my favourite snack, but I do buy them quite often as they have a pleasant taste and aren't the most colorific snack to have! Give them a try if you haven't done so for a while!

P.S This is my first opinion as a Blue member - thanks everyone!
