Advantages: great picture, fantastic audio, easy to set up, reasonably priced Disadvantages: not HD ready
...similar sized televisions.
The television is very heavy and produces the picture in an LCD format with a resolution of 1366x768. This is done using flat tubes with liquid crystals trapped between two glass panels. The television may not be the deepest in terms of size, but it is difficult for one person to hold safely. Whilst the television is HDTV compatible, it is not HD ready, meaning that it can display pictures in HD, but not with the same quality of other brands. Although I was originally looking for a HD ready television, after seeing a model in action on a bank of screens that were HD ready there did not appear to be an difference of note. The Humax has the capacity to produce up to 16.7 million colours so its not like you will be looking at a black & white or Technicolor picture.
Setting up was very easy, apart from the weight...

Advantages: Excellent picture / sound quality, easy to use, attractive design Disadvantages: Nothing of any significance
...I bought this unit a couple of months ago, having been looking for some time for a new Freeview DVD/HD recorder. I already own a Pioneer analogue DVD/HD recorder and a Humax Freeview PVR.
Setting the machine up was easy and trouble-free and it's proved easy to operate ever since. I tend to record most stuff onto the hard drive using the high quality setting (HQ). At this setting the recorded pictures and sound are simply perfect - there is no discernable difference between the recording and the original broadcast. Watching a recording of BBC's Planet Earth, for example, was simply stunning and far superior to the results achievable on my Pioneer or Humax. The 160GB hard dirve allows up to 32 hours of recording using the HQ setting (or 1 hour on a standard single layer DVD). There is an even higher quality setting (HQ+) which I have yet...

This television is simply stunning to look at. You would be watching the television rather the picture on the screen! This is a HD tele that provides outstanding crisp and very detailed images that will leave you stunned at the quality. At around £1000, its quite moderatly prices for a 26inch screen. Sony is renowned for quality products and excellent customer service so...

This Sanyo camcorder is apparently an attempt to capture both the video and still photo market and offer both types of customers one product.

We bought our Humax PVR-9200T not long after moving into our new house in December 2005. We decided on the Humax PVR as it came with a Freeview set up and the facility to record programmes along with a host of other minor functions. For those of you in... more
Bought this as a bedroom television. It is a little bulky due to the big speakers and so decided to leave it on a table rather than wall mount, which is possible. It is a HD television the resolution is in between the lower 768 the top of 1082 at 1440... more
